Interesting remark from a U.S. writer amidst the flood of reaction:

"No matter your opinion viz. Osama, I'd want the person who did this either not to know, or never to tell."

barack obama has finally released his birth certificate after years of speculation that he was not born in the us.
Despite previously revealing an official "certification of live birth", which showed the president was born in hawaii, rumours persisted.

Now the white house have caved in to the pressure and hope the move will be a final blow to "birther" theorists who have insisted mr obama was born in his father's native kenya, making him ineligible to hold office.

Mr obama said he had watched, puzzled and bemused, as the conspiracy grew over the past years.

He said: "we do not have time for this kind of silliness. We've got better stuff to do. i have better stuff to do.
boom

Classy statement from George W. Bush, and good on Obama for notifying him in advance.

Quote:
Earlier this evening, President Obama called to inform me that American forces killed Osama bin Laden, the leader of the al Qaeda network that attacked America on September 11, 2001. I congratulated him and the men and women of our military and intelligence communities who devoted their lives to this mission. They have our everlasting gratitude. This momentous achievement marks a victory for America, for people who seek peace around the world, and for all those who lost loved ones on September 11, 2001. The fight against terror goes on, but tonight America has sent an unmistakable message: No matter how long it takes, justice will be done.

Yeah, thats kinda what I figured, that it would have either been marine force recon because they are already in Afghanistan, or the Seals.

We'll probably never find out how they got there or the intelligence that lead to his death because Special Forces are tight lipped.

But this is a great demonstration of the capabilities of special forces groups as opposed to the usual American love for using overwhelming firepower and hoping that they killed the target.

I'm thinking that the Seal who vented his head is probably looking at a serious decoration that nobody will ever know about.

Very interesting...General Patraeus visited Pakistan for security talks last week.

Quote:
– Mon Apr 25, 12:12 pm ET
ISLAMABAD (AFP) – US general David Petraeus on Monday visited Pakistan and held talks with its army chief on ways to bolster regional security, the US embassy said in a statement.

"Gen. David H. Petraeus, Commander of the NATO International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan, visited Pakistan today to meet with Gen. Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff," the embassy said.

"They discussed topics of mutual interest and ways to improve regional security," it said in a statement.
