More disappointed to hear this than the McDonald injury. Klimchuk really needs to stay healthy now.

I was watching Eric Roy last night. He was given a lot of responsibility being out there in the last few minutes of a tight game and looked pretty good to me.

Started watching the Wheat Kings and Oil Kings at the start of 2nd period tonight. Been wondering how come I haven't seen Klimchuk so I guess you just answered my question. I saw Eric Roy #7 on the ice already. Oil Kings just tied the game.

Kanzig and the Hitmen got robbed the referee tonight. They scored their 5th goal tonight but it was disallowed because the referee blew the whistle before it went in. Replay shows otherwise. The puck was in already before you can hear the whistle. But there was that stupid rule that the ref intent to whistle the play.. not sure why though. Then an Ice player hit a Calgary player from behind to the board and no penalty. They ended up losing in OT. That Fasleev kid was on the Flames prospect games, correct?

No, that was Pavel Padakin.
Radel Fazleev was drafted by Philly in the 6th round.

Oh yeah thanks. It was Padakin. I was very impressed with that Radel Fasleev though. He seems like a hard working player and all over the puck. Jake Virtanen on the other hand wasn't that good in Game 5. I guess I was expecting more from him though. First time I've seen Kanzig play on TV and he is big and the guy can skate.

How's Eric Roy looking? I noticed that he has a +32, but his team is stacked this year... Any other insider information?

Friday night:
Oshawa advances to the OHL Eastern Finals after taking the series 4-1 over the ice dogs.
Looks like they will face North Bay who currently leads Barrie 3-1.
Oshawa won 4-2. Smith had 0pts -1 2pim.
for the playoffs 10gp 5g 6a 11pts +3 10pim
Brandon and Calgary will meet each other in the WHL Eastern Finals after winning their series 4-1 against Regina and Medicine Hat respectively.
Klimchuk played for the first time in Friday's 3-2 win since suffering an injury on March 29th.
picked up an assist +1 .
Roy had 0pts +1
Royals were eliminated last night by the Rockets.
Carroll had 1a -2 2pims in the 7-3 loss
Carroll's playoffs : 10gp 1g 8a 9pts +5 8pim.
Unless he is suffering an injury, expect Carroll to be called up to Calgary. Could also possibly go to Adirondack for their final game tomorrow, but I think that might be doubtful.

FWIW Brad Curle on 960 says in his talks with Brandon media guys it sounds like Eric Roy was distracted in the first half of the season by not being signed to a NHL contract. He decided to let the contract situation work itself out in the 2nd half and has been playing great ever since.

The stats would seem to back up that claim as well.
Fist 28 games - 12 points, +5
Last 38 games - 33 points, +26
He has carried that play over into the playoffs as well which is nice to see.

I watched a Brandon playoff game on TV and Roy looked like he was the go to guy on defence and he looked okay. He's a lot older than their two highly touted defencemen going in this draft but still he's on the same path that Culkin went on. That is being returned for his OA year and it turned out well for him.

They have to sign him, don't they? The way he's been playing? It's not like the Flames are brimming with D-prospects.
