By the way, I was on camera, should I make it my LinkedIn photo? Do I demand a raise at work? I feel that this may be my foot up in the world!

I don't mind the stats and honestly see it as a props to how good Ryan is contributing! I have no doubt the others will too again.

Sure it was. Plus, Talbot says not so fast.

A little bit yes and little bit no. His offensive woes were hidden a bit by the fact that he was consistently looking to be defensively responsible but now that he doesn't have quite the same need to be first one back, his inability to make plays with the puck is becoming more magnified. He did have a great passer in Tkachuk on his line before not quite the human Roomba that Gaudreau is in picking up the puck and going all over the zone.

Sorry, I meant Turek only started 6 games as Kipper's backup. I don't see that as being a tandem at that point, it was essentially just Kipper's net from that point on.

That season was certainly defined by Turek getting seriously injured requiring the Kipper trade, where he and Noodles manned the net before Kipper was then hurt. McLennan held the fort while both were injured and Noodles himself had a broken sternum.

My point being that Turek basically lost his net permanently once Kipper came to town. Whereas Kipper and McLennan were more of a tandem that year.

Teams record is much better since he went there...Flames need to add a top 6 winger and put Backlund at 3C

Really enjoyed the panel segment on TSN just now.

Breath of fresh air compared to SNET, and coming from a Leafs home panel to boot.

Turns out it's not that hard to have a good, quality discussion on the Flames, even if it's not a Flames broadcast! (no mention of Matthews or McDavid either...incredible)

I mean, you can twist my words all you want, but I posted hard stats to show how good Ryan has been.

You're the one turning it into a negative post.

Talbot has been good, but he's played 16 games.

Ryan is the 5th best offensive player on the team and provides great value in every single area of the game.

I'd still choose him over Talbot

I wonder if Dube can carry enough of a defensive load to be on that line? He’s been a 2 way player in his career. That puts Backlund down the lineup, or maybe even a trading chip.

To show how great he's been relative to our best players?

You're being a little bit sensitive over a post that was all about raving about Ryan.

No, not really. However, they've been better getting sticks in the way, and when they don't, Rittich has been unconscious.

But that's the right strategy playing the Leafs. Defense first and wait for their defenders to make a mistake, and then capitalize on it. Play loose and you'll lose quickly. The Leafs have too many great offensive weapons.
