Bassitt is looking like this year's Kikuchi.

Pitching is always tough to predict. Those wanting to spend big on locking up pitchers long term should always see the challenge. Ryu, Berrios, Kukuchi all locked up and have faltered early into their contracts. Veterans with proven versatile conditioned arms should be the way forward when the time is right.

Oof. What a disaster of a start from Bassit. Can only go up from here for him though. So there's that.

Ryu was a Cy Young finalist in his first year as a Blue Jay…albeit in a shortened season.

Just can’t get on base or cash in runners while there. Tough day.

Chapman has had a pretty nice day at least. 3 for 4, 2 doubles and a single.

Bullpen has actually done a decent job today. Bassit was giving up an insane amount of hard contact, it was remarkable.

Not a great game. Hopefully they get on a roll in KC.

The long spring training should be enough to get them in the groove so I hate to chalk the mediocre start to just the beginning of the season, but what other choice do we have?

Curious to see how Berrios looks tomorrow. Surely Bassitt is better than we saw today right?
I think the bats actually look pretty good so far, they're extending at bats, Bo is hitting, Vlad looks patient. Just need an ok starting pitching performance and string together some hits.

We all knew it would come down to pitching this season. Give everyone a pass on their first starts but after that its down to business, no excuses.

Cards are a good team, likely another 90+ win season and division title for them again. A good deep lineup of pesky hitters behind two superstars in Arenado and Goldie.
I wouldn't sweat these last two games much.
