At the APP rally I attended they claim they got their petition question in first. It’s one of many lies they told to huge applause. They’re like MAGAts lapping up lies.

Lol! 'White Elephant Gift.'
I do not, nor ever have, or ever will, want a Pony. They can keep it.

I can work with that.
We get a few other people together and maybe we can be listed as some sort of commune.

And the US will trade your Canadian dollars for greenbacks. Like all of your Canadian bank accounts, RRSPs RRIFs, RESPs, GICs, TFSA, stocks, bonds, mattress savings?? Yeah, of course they will. Totally wouldn't be a fiasco as people try to game the process to make a quick buck. Won't be inflationary either I'm sure.

People need to do some more research about the good ol' USA. Ya, it is a collection of states, but they also have territories that they 'own' but do not get state status:
American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
There are very different sets of rules for people who live in these places and it is a pretty significant step down from being one of the 50 states. I would expect that MAGA would try to sell Alberta on the idea of becoming the 51st state but then in reality just make it an territory so that they can reap the benefits of our resources but give nothing back to the population. They definitely would not want to give us representatives in congress or the senate (especially since Trump would rather get rid of both houses and consolidate his power).

Gross.
I keep checking to see what is going on with the referendum question. If Thomas Lukaszuk's application is stuck following the old rules and he needs 294k signatures in 60 days or whatever, then he is going to need a lot of help to get people to sign.
If there was ever a time for a CP Jihad, that would be it... to save Canada!
Unfortunately, it would require physical signatures.

There was a table of separatists at the CNP farmers market tonight. I didn’t see anyone sign their petition and they left early. I resisted the urge to be violent.
Also, a Northback tent, and a local guy praising Trump and MAGA.

Good interview with Nenshi from a few days ago. Nice to hear a mature, intelligent adult talking about things that real Albertans actually care about, and calling out the UCP's ridiculous bulls***.

I wonder who they donated to? I also (but not really) wonder which govt changed the law about investigating election crimes?

A pro-Trump and Christian singer whose events on his east coast Canadian tour have had to be moved to alternate venues after being cancelled is slated to play at the Alberta legislature grounds in August.
U.S. musician Sean Feucht has faced protests and cancellations this week on the first leg of his cross-country tour which is slated to stop on Aug. 22 in Edmonton for a performance at the grounds’ south bandshell.
A spokesperson for Alberta Infrastructure said in a statement tour organizers had submitted an incomplete event permit application for the event.
“We are taking steps to help organizers submit a complete application,” it reads, noting the event must comply with “security protocols, public safety, and venue guidelines.”
