Why wait? Especially if he's charging that ridiculously low price. You need it done anyway...may not hurt to call him and ask when he'd like you in as he might appreciate that. I'd give him $100 for the job for sure.

I always aim to get my vehicle swapped on/by the first week of Oct, since it's useless in any sort of snow with the summers on.
My wife decided to make the move to winters this year too, so I'll just add her to the appointments for then, too.

They might be condo dwellers. As soon as we moved out of the condo and into our house I bought a jack and an electric impact gun, so much better swapping tires myself at any time I choose

The inside joke is I have known his brother in law for 25 years or so. They have a lovely house.

To be fair, he comes ready to work and is the primary wheel changer in the relationship. If she does show up, it is to socialize inside while us two keyboard jockeys do our semi-annual manly man thing in the garage.

I prefer running my all-seasons until they’re required. A little snow doesn’t scare me. My guy can get me in within 3-4 days so I hang on. If the forecast is for a dump, I pull the trigger. I’ve been doing this forever and have never been stuck.

Agreed, we have great all seasons, I’m in no panic to change until the first week of November to avoid running the winters in overly warm weather. If we had summers only my feelings I’m sure would be different.

Running the winters in warm weather for a few days isn't the end of the world.

True but neither is running all weathers on a week or so of just below zero temps at worse with light snow. It’s a balance.

Seeing as the first snowfall of the season usually makes most drivers drive as if it's their first time ever driving in snow, I always like to preemptively swap to make dealing with that chaos a little easier.
But to each their own...

Meh, I think slamming your tire guy once the snow flies is rude when you could just make a phone call today and take care of this now.

I'll do mine this weekend as the garage will be warmer and I like to get my summers off when they're relatively clean.

I picked up some tire cover/bag/whatever things from Princess Auto, getting them in and out of my coupe can always be a bit annoying and figure the handles on the bags will help a bit, and look nicer than plastic bags.
And since I have rims this year I could do it myself finally, but the place I got the rims from does the swap for free..
Only question is if I'll be able to get the new rims into the car, it was already pretty tight when it was just tires, and now with tires and rims together and the new ones are wider. Oh well will find out tonight if I need to have my dad follow me in his truck with my rims lol. Stupid small cars.

Anyone have good recommendations for tire covers that cover the entire tire + wheel? I'm looking for something to replace the plastic bags I got when I bought the tires, but the prices are either ridiculous $20+ per or they only cover the tire and not the wheel. I'm hoping to spend less than $100 for two cars. Tires are R18 and R19 and I want to cover the entire thing because I store them in a leaky shed and I'm hoping for less of a chance of finding a nest inside after.
I'm usually pretty good at finding these types of things, but somehow for this specific item, I'm a little at a loss. I've been occasionally looking for this product since the spring.

So many people overthink this stuff, it's nuts.
Put them on around Thanksgiving, take them off around Mother's Day. Easy peasy
