Felix brought his work boots to this match, very impressive. If Rafa is going to lose I'd rather he lose to Felix than Novak.

That badly missed forehand by Felix at Ad FAA might be the TSN turning point.

Nadal's really picked up his game, some of those shots are ridiculous. One set all.

Big hold there from 15-40 down to not lose another point. Felix just needs to stretch this out and make it a grind, not let Nadal take a lead here with the momentum from where he's at right now in terms of his level.

Insane defence from Nadal there. That's potentially the whole match in one point.
Incidentally, I really think guys need an underarm serve at this point. Nadal is basically standing out of frame on the first serve return. Medvedev does the same. At least make them think about it.

Kyrgios would have been underhanding the whole match. It would be fun to see if Nadal would stand 10 feet further back if the wall was 10 feet further back. My guess is yes, but who knows?

Nadal is really shortening the points now, and Felix's body language isn't too good. I don't think Rafa stands a chance against Novak, it looks like he absolutely does not want to play 4 hours.

Well a gift from Nadal has added some intrigue back into this.

Yeah Nadal really doesn't want this to go 5... Huge service game here to consolidate after failing to do so a few minutes ago.
EDIT: Had an easy shot for 40-0 on his racket and missed it by trying to send the ball through the back wall. No reason for it. Mental error and now it's 30-30. EDITEDIT: Pulled it out though, Nadal not moving very well the last few games...

Not to be too greedy, but break to start the fifth?

OK so that drop shot to bring up set point is the filthiest, most disgusting shot I think I have seen Felix hit this year.
OOF.
... And yeah, a break is possible, but really just make him earn it. Keep putting pressure on his serve. He's going to go all out to get a break on yours right away because he's seriously fading.

I went to play tennis with my wife and daughter (had to get it in before the rain comes). I'm back for the conclusion.

I mean, Felix can't play that point any better than he did, it's just Rafa doing Rafa things.

So basically what you're saying is this is your fault.

Felix hold your head up high young man what a battle! Hopefully Rafa's foot is okay against Djokovic should be a fun match.

... And there's nothing at all to be done about that.

Rafa just too solid in the fifth, didn't give Felix a chance to apply any pressure. But a great performance regardless, should be a good confidence boost.
