All I keep hearing about the PC video on the interweb is how bad the acting is in it. Like apparently comically bad.

The http://www.ineverthoughtidvotepc.com/ I Never Thought I'd vote PC is an interesting thing.
I'm sure someone is going to try and dig it up, but I'm curious if it is an actual PC campaign. I know the WRP is going to say it is, but I'd really like to know. It's really just a rehash of the StuffHarperSaid campaign (it even hints at it the footer link).
As someone supporting the PCs, I'd be disappointed to hear if it was a PC sponsored site. If it's an organic site that some people threw up of their own accord, then whatever. Good on them. It's directed at the under 30 voters and the SHD site didn't really do much to sway the overal vote.
I've had a look at the code and it seams rushed at best. I've had issues with how the PCs have run the campaign, but even I don't think they would be swift enough to put something like this together. Heck, they finally put something (Griffith's Rock The Vote video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHywFK8u6OE) that is at least interest and launch it during the last week of the campaign.

New poll from Leger.
Wildrose 42%
PC 36%
NDP 10%
Liberal 9%
Alberta Party 2%
Green 0.3%
Other 1%
Leger had a poll on the 8th showing the parties tied for the lead when the other pollsters were showing a 12-14 point WR lead. This poll seems to be the correction showing the last poll was an outlier.

I think it's insulting to Wildrose and PC supporters alike; and by extension all Albertans.

Correct me if I'm wrong but who exactly would make up "other" besides the Evergreen party? Is there an outlier crazy party I haven't heard of yet?

I agree that to many older WRP and PC supporters it'll really turn them off, it's also why I find it really hard to think it's an official PC sponsored spot.

I agree that its not a great video, but I am curious to know what's insulting? I didn't watch it too carefully, so I'm wondering what I missed by doing other stuff while it played.

To say Joe Clark won that riding because of strategic voting is an insult to Joe Clark. He hit the pavement harder than anyone and won that riding as a result of good, old-fashioned, campaigning.

I'm not saying he didn't work for it, but lets be rational. That was strategic voting all the way and a pure "anyone but Lowther" campaign. I would actually suggest that Hinman winning in Glenmore in the byelection is another good example where people wanted to "send Ed a message" just like his signs said.
You can point to examples where strategic voting doesn't work, but there are definitely cases where it does as well. Thats the glory and stupidity of FPTP all wrapped in one IMO.

Interstingly, when you look at the numbers, it looks like a statistical dead heat in Calgary and Edmonton. It all depends on the way voters are distributed in the ridings.
Quote:
Among Undecided Voters – Party Leaning Towards
Alison Redford’s Progressive Conservative Party of Alberta
20%
Danielle Smith’s Wildrose Party
14%
Decided Voters
Edmonton PC: 35% WRP: 33%
Calgary PC: 40% WRP: 43%
The margin of error for the regional findings is higher at…
o Edmonton ±4.6%
o Calgary ±4.6%
o Rest of Alberta ±5.7%
