Not trying to be a dick, as you may not notice it, but almost any post you make about Calgary contains a remark about how we're a boring, bland city with nothing to do. And then you usually back off a bit when challenged and qualify it as being okay, but nothing like some other cities.
Calgary isn't Shanghai or London or New York, but for it's size it's a pretty damn nice city, with lots to do and a skyline that swings way above it's weight class.
2013 does not equal 1995 Calgary or 2001 Calgary. Things have changed.(Not sure when you lived here)

Not to derail the thread, I'll just say thanks for your feedback. I'm not sure why I always like to have a little dig at Calgary but I'll try to be less dickish like that in future. It is pretty silly now that you point it out in that way. I was back in Calgary last summer actually, and think it's a pretty lovely place to be overall, was a great place to grow up and still seems like a nice place to have a family and a good healthy life. I don't harbour any hate for the city.

what was your method for taking pics? a sensor, long exposures and hoping to catch a bolt, or taking a pic as soon as you see a flash of lightning?
i use a sensor (aeo lightning strike II) and it works really well http://www.aeophoto.com/
i got it off of ebay for around $130-$140 a couple years ago

I think the first two were long exposures hoping for a flash, the last was hitting the trigger when I saw a flash. No sensor.

I know this is so technically imperfect but it made me happy. I took it on the long weekend, as we were heading home from Sylvan Lake, at the junction of Hwys 54 and 781 (I think it was 781 anyway).
