The fact the 49ers or Eagles are going to have to waste a week and the associated injury risk to beat the #7 seed by five touchdowns is criminal. I guess my hope, no offense to 49ers/Eagles fans, is that they have at least one catastrophic injury in that game and the uproar is so great the NFL cancels the #7 seed. Won't happen of course, but I just want to believe the atrocity of the #7 seed can be ended, instead of the 99% likely possibility of the ungodly #8 seed in the future.

Going for it on 4th down on your own 23 yard line is a choice

Going for it with the offense would have been better than the worlds most obvious fake punt. Maybe should take a delay of game when the Packers are in punt safe too. Alas, Lions.

That fake punt wasn’t a wise idea. Campbell might get skewered for that one if they end up losing this game.

That was a terrible play call for a 2 point convert

Previous 2 Thanksgiving days the Lions coaching staff did some baffling things which contributed to losses. Not looking promising so far today.

If in the situation, going for it with your offense would be a terrible idea, doing it with your special teams is an even worse one. A fake punt from the 40 or 45 isn’t a bad idea but from your own 20ish while being down only 9 points and almost a full quarter and a half left is just stupid.

Campbell's problem with ever faking it is everyone knows he's aggressive as #### (except the Chiefs on opening night). So if he's inclined to even consider going for it as a fake, he should just straight up go for it and have his best skill players out there instead of the roster also rans that make up the punt team. Kind of sums up the NFL right now that the Lions have shat themselves all game, and yet are still in position to pull it out.

Yikes. Sometimes field goals and punts are ok.

Campbell coaches like I played Madden as a 12 year old.

Kicking a FG there is useless though, still need two TDs after anyway. Down 14 you could maybe justify a FG (although still a bad decision), but down 15 it's a waste.

That’s fair but had they punted the ball away on the last drive and stopped the Packers, a field goal would have mattered.

Punting and field goals aren’t sexy but field position is so huge in the game. Sometimes you need to trust your defense to make a stop.

The fake punt is indefensible, but it's done so you can't take it back. Obviously if they were down nine instead of 15 then kicking the FG is the play. At the same time aggressiveness giveth, and aggressiveness taketh away. If they did the "take the points/play it safe" things against the Chargers they likely lose. End of the day they were terrible today so I doubt any combination of kicking FGs, punting, playing it safe/aggressive would have mattered, they were just bad today.

Three lost fumbles was the main problem.

Two of them were, the one that happened on 4th down is pretty inconsequential.

Lions have a few things to fix with their turnover on offence and defence. This is 3 straight games where they've given up a lot of yards and points.

Smart of the NFL to serve up a dog of a team like the Commanders on Thanksgiving. Cowboys with the guaranteed W tonight to send the fans home happy.

The league felt like the Hot water showers for the Commanders players was the least they could give them for Thanksgiving.

The Commanders have some pretty decent players even after trading Sweat and Young. Howell is a solid QB with a good receiving corps and there are still some good building blocks on defense. They aren’t a good team but they aren’t super far off.

Super far off from what? They are certainly super far off from contending for a championship. But with how bad the NFC is pretty much everyone isn't far off from a playoff team.

Romo shouldnt be allowed to work Cowboys games. If I had a drink everytime he told the viewers "The Cowboys can win the Superbowl Jim!" I'd be too drunk to type this message.

Can't think of any reason why Washington shouldn't fire Rivera now and give Bieniemy a five game run to see if he can be a head coach.
