Barzal is also very consistent regular season to playoffs. No drop off in ppg. A trait Tkachuk has not displayed

Who says no to Tkachuk and Dube for Kyrou and Tarasenko?

I think the issue he runs into is trying to do too much on his own. I think Sutter would be great for him, along with playing with a guy like Mangiapane that has a non-stop motor

I do think Barzal would do well here. My concern is his contract demands - what are they?

Calgary……Tarasenko is signed for one more year. St Louis isn’t taking him unless he signs. A signed Tkachuk for Tarasenko, Kyrou and a 1st

tarasenko is 30
There is no way we lose our best player, for a player that’s out of his prime. Dube, maybe?

Any trade for Tkachuk MUST include 3 YOUNG assets: a young roster player, top prospect, and a first. I don’t care about his salary, or how many points came from playing with Johnny. He’s 24, and already a star player. If Tre can’t get that, he’s a failure.

I hope you’re right. My concern is people are underrating Kyrou and overrating Tkachuk. Do other teams see Tkachuk as a 90-100 point player away from Gaudreau? I know I don’t.

He made it to the conference finals twice. That’s more then any of our core can say.

That doesn’t tell the full story on Barzal as a player.

No, but people are willing to use the islanders missing the playoffs last year as a template. Obviously not all his fault. But the top players get most of the credit and the blame. Rightfully so. So yes, him making it to the conference finals twice, definitely carries validity.

If Tkachuk is going to be traded, Tre ( and his staff) will get the best possible return that the market permits.
Market value, with all things considered, will determine the return.
What your expectations are...mean nothing. The player’s market value by the opinion of other teams , as well as their cap space, means everything.
Ask Johnny.
Sometimes, the Star is not as bright , as we’d like.

There is no guarantee you something for market value, it's almost impossible to make that declaration. Treliving could possibly get more than a perceived market value as well.

By definition, the market determines market value.

There is no guarantee Treliving gets the best possible return in any trade. He will try, sure.

Flames fans: If Tkachuk isn’t signing he must be traded at all costs so you don’t lose him for nothing.
Also Flames fans: the return better be A plus.
