Well, I'll have the next best thing. I'll be house-bound and unable to drive. I'll also be off work.
I can't even use my phone or a computer for the first 2 weeks. After that though, I expect the internet will spoil me before I can see it.

The 'being blind' bit helps but ultimately 2 weeks at home, not blind, with no work and nothing but TV and the Internet. Yeah, you're boned.

Oh well, at least I'll be able to see out of both eyes for the first time since September.
*Apologies to anyone that I cut off while driving for the past 3 months*

You should have been driving one of those vans that say "This Van is Being Driven by a Blind Man!"

Well, I drive an F-150, so I assume most people I cut off just assume that's how I normally drive.
Maybe I should get some white sunglasses, a sticker of Calvin peeing on a Chevy logo and truck nuts to remove all doubt.

I saw it in 3D. Probably not necessary, but in no way distracting. There are definitely several shots that it adds a nice touch to.

It's good 3d, no stupid throw stuff at you make you duck crap. I thought it added to the movie. Though I think imax vs non imax would make a bigger difference than 2d vs 3d

I would say yes just because there are a few shots that make you feel like you are right up close and personal.

The 3D was very understated. If there was anything 3Dish, I missed it. Anyway, I think if you want you could skip the 3D.

If you go 3D, put the glasses on right away before the previews start.
I find it takes 15-20 minutes to get used to them being on your face and seeing 3D elements, so you don't want to still be adjusting when the movie starts.

Only thing that bothers with IMAX 3D are the how dirty the glasses are. I carry a small micro fibre cleaning sheet with me every time now haha.
I've got my tickets for Boxing Day 11pm in IMAX. Can't wait!

I saw in regular and 3D.
I'd recommend regular since there are only a handful of scenes where you even notice the 3D, and it's not like you have to see those scenes in 3D to enjoy them. The rest of the time, you just have those nuisance glasses that 5,000 other people have worn before you.

My problem with 3D isn't that the glasses have been worn by a bunch of people. It's the double vision it creates that makes the rest of the movie seem less crisp for the sake of a few money-grabber scenes.
I'm pretty meh on the whole scenario.

The Force Awakens was my first 3D experience and I liked it aside from the motion sickness for the first 10 minutes. I felt like throwing up at first.

I realized that must be one of the reasons why they have the 3D trailers. It takes me 10 minutes to get used to the 3D. So I'll deal with the discomfort watching them, then I'm ready to enjoy the movie when it starts.

Never been a fan of 3D, just seems like a gimmick. Sure it adds a bit of depth to the film but it is not worth the headache and extra price.
I'm very happy the Sydney IMAX is 2D. Only 4 more days avoiding spoilers for me!
