Wait, some of that is untrue? Actually, I guess they really are not going to fully privatize Health Care.
That said, it is not a comment that anyone on the campaign trail should be making, especially one who just a couple days ago was asking for a cabinet position. Maybe Smith smacked him around for even asking...

I definitely think that it is unfair to imply that all WRP candidates are homophobic or bigots (he doesn't say that of course, but it does seem to be implied to a degree.) I think that it was a bad decision to tweet that.
However, there is no question that several WRP (and, to be fair, at least one PC) candidates are homophobic. And at least one WRP candidate has made offensive racial remarks. It does not reflect well on the party.

I actually think part of the problem is not enough debates though. When people have to see each other, in person, with a TV camera in front of them these things don't come out.
I could be wrong though, and maybe am just hankering for a heated discussion!

I have no doubt that many members of both the PC and WRP could be classified as bigots, homophobes, racists etc. It does not change the factual nature of the tweet.
You are exactly right about what he is implying though, and as far as I am concerned, that has no place in what I want Canadian politics to be.

The City Union (CUPE 38) just sent out it's newsletter with a big front pager entitled "Wildrose budget attacks public sector". Looks like they are throwing the wildrose under the bus based on their balanced budget alternative document. They go on to talk about proposed wage freezes, reduction of midddle management, and warn of a resulting infrastructure deficit.
Young mobile talent considers Calgary because it is one of the few places with tonnes of opportunity and decent- to high-paying jobs in Canada / North America / world. To suggest that this one yokel's ill-stated comment will reverse all the multi-ethnic goodwill gained on Nenshi's successful bid for mayor is a bit of an overstatement.
For about the first 20 seconds, you think this might actually be a good strategy to get people to strategically vote but then it gets stupid... real stupid.

Well this depends on where you sit, if your a taxpayer, its good. If your a net tax user, not so much.

These are probably the same donkeys who complain about "US style attack ads" and "Negative smear campaigns"

I could only make it around a minute in - if they were to talk about how the PC Party has changed or actually present arguments in a constructive manner that would be a great viral ad that would actually likely work, that though just comes off very poorly.

This is why I don't like Raj Sherman at all as a politician, he says or twitters something that he either can't prove or that makes him look worse than the people he attempting to attack. Maybe is a great doctor and has some good ideas for policy but he is an awful politician.
Truth be told, I love politics and I love looking at policy in particular and to date there has been very little on debating actual policy, there has been a lot of discussion on issues that really don't matter that much when it comes to the finances of the province (No-Show Committees and Conscious Rights come to mind). There has been no discussion about the actual finances of the province other than the IMO stupid Alberta Refund or whatever the plan was for that. The Wild Rose has stated they get the budget under control but have given no outline as to how they plan on doing that, it is a jack in the box surprise party where I don't exactly know what is planning on popping out if they get into power. I admit that I think that there likely are inefficiencies within the government, in fact I know there are, but changing that need to be done with a scalpel, not a sledgehammer.
