The cons were in my neighbourhood this afternoon. I wasn’t planning on opening the door at first but the thought, screw it, make them toss their pamphlet in their own recycle bin not mine.
I opened my door as, possibly the candidate and a handler, were approaching and got to the first step:
“We’ve already voted”
He said “Oh great, and can we assume you voted of us!?!?” all cheery and expecting me to say yes.
“NOPE! <they turned around quickly> Not a chance.” Closed door.

Alright, but ideally you waste their time for 30 minutes so they can't get to others. A good opener is to pretend you recognize them from somewhere, then keep going back to that every time they try to leave. "Wait, were you at game 3 of the second round 2015 run around section 209? I think we met through Dave at Pocket Dogs." "No, that not it, we'll it'll come to me in a few minutes. Would you like a tea? I've got a bag around here somewhere..."

The fear mongering from the CPC just does not resonate with me. On a personal level the last 10 years have been very prosperous, and pleasant. The LPC doesn't exactly have anything to do with that, but all the same it's not like any of the policies got in the way.
I get that the LPC have their own brand of fear mongering, and I really don't think 4 years of CPC government would run the country into ruin or anything.
I guess, I don't really buy into a lot of the BS about this being the most important election ever. That Tag line comes up every election. Yeah, all elections are important, dont get me wrong. But no matter the result, the world doesn't end tomorrow.

I don't quite agree on the grind part. Old school CA through the can program or new CPA through cash program - yes a grind. But the prior CMA and cga program was not nearly the same grind.

Tomorrow is the big day! For those who did not take advantage of the advanced polls, tomorrow, April 28th, is Election Day across Canada. Have you read the Canadian Future Party platform yet? Do you have a CFP candidate in your riding? Over the course of this campaign, we have been introducing our party and our candidates to Canadians and now we ask for the honour of your support at the ballot.
Look for CFP / PAC on your ballot to show your support for the Canadian Future Party! We have a plan to make Canada the world’s northern democratic superpower, to make democracy deliver, and to defend our values. Regardless of who wins the election, we will continue to offer evidence-based policies based on democracy, honesty, and the confidence that the 21st century belongs to Canada

You might want to check that. My read of his profile is that was a portion of his time. Also a lot of time as commercial analyst, working in BD at ATCO, as a tax consultant, and auditor at CRA (nobodys perfect)

That also means I’d have to listen to their gibber jabber for 30 mins and waste my time. I was more interested in watching Carolina.
I did have half a mind to answer his question with “No, according to your ads I keep seeing I need to be in my 70s and be a grumpy old golfer to vote for you.”

At some point we are going to have to make a new trade agreement with the United States. I can easily envision a scenario where Trump puts pressure on our new Prime Minister to match current American values in order to secure that agreement. I believe Mr. Poilievre will very easily cave in to Trump's demands in order to secure a trade deal, whether those demands be economic or social. Mr. Poilievre has already shown support to the anti-science/anti-vaccination crowd and has supported Danielle Smith's implementation of policies that put members of the LGBTQ community at risk. Mr. Carney, on the other hand, has said and done all the right things in terms of dealing with Trump. So, yes, this probably is the most important Canadian election ever.

I did on LinkedIn.
Last job was in 2020.
Prior "analyst" roles were mainly looking at green energy projects.
Like I said - he doesn't have oil n gas experience if we are talking about increasing commodity trade amongst provinces.
Majority of these policies (liberals, conservatives, etc) are useless.

What worries me tomorrow is a minority government, yet again. More partisan fighting in the leg, hard to get any bills through, threats of non confidence and yet another costly election sooner rather than later, and my social media flooded once again with propaganda from both sides.
For what it's worth the social 'influencers' (I hate the word) from the Liberal support side has been downright insulting and rude; maybe the algorithm wanted me to see that material, who knows.
All I know is I'm happy to see this over with in the next 24 hrs (or so) and the propaganda/lies calming down, for a while at least.
I'm not super pro either side, but I do feel it's uncanny to think how different this election is if it takes place just a few months ago after Jagmeet 'ripped up the coalition agreement'. And after the disastrous by elections for the LPC.
The only reason I wouldn't mind an unlikely CPC majority is seeing Pierre vs Trump and a genuine change in govt (which is reasonable after a decade regardless of how good or bad it was).
If Pierre is PM and flops hard, then LPC supermajority in 2029 or sooner.
But ending this post, it will be fascinating to see things play out tomorrow. And again, happy to see this over with.

Totally disqualifying and not only the Liberals, but most Canadians not in Ontario let the piece of kyit off the hook.
Remember if you vote for PP tomorrow you are a deplorable.

However today goes, I’m pretty excited and proud that we will potentially have record turnout. Advanced polls were crazy.

If you're trusting what an algorithm is feeding you, you've got bigger things to be concerned about.
Finding reliable news sources is becoming increasingly difficult but trusting the algorithms of social media platforms is just dangerously irresponsible.
