Onto the next match...

Today's snowfall may actually be a blessing given Spruce Meadows' "MEASURE ONCE, CUT TWICE." approach to troubleshooting this season. Probably good for their staff to be able to complete the task of clearing the field for Wednesday's match against Valour FC at least once before the Finals come around a month later.

If Carducci gets called up again for the MNT, mean he's out for the second leg of the Finals? They play the US Oct 15 and Nov 5. I assume they'd want him at training for more than a day or two before the game after the 2nd leg.

To sit on the bench, not sure that's ideal.

Pretty sure it is the 15th of November.

Realized this weekend that we need to offer a little blessing to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Thanks to them, we know our home game is November 2. Meaning I won't have to miss an October 26 date due to being in Regina for the Heritage Classic.

I think the nice thing about playing into November is that you really just have four full months until the boys get back on the field and start practicing again. I've always loved this about MLS, in that there really isn't much down time during the year and it feels like the soccer season goes for most of the year.

If you think about it, a bad NHL team that doesn't make the playoffs doesn't start playing meaningful games until after a gap of about six months (April, May, June, July, August, September).

The Foot Soldiers are going to set up an event for people travelling in from out of town on November 1. Will post details when I have more organized.

Also, it has been confirmed that tickets go on sale on October 4th. Not sure of the exact time (guessing 10am), or if there will be a pre-sale for past ticket purchasers. I'm sure that info will trickle out today or tomorrow.

Glad that the league just picked the dates as soon as Forge were officially declared the opponent. Now people can plan around it.

I'd really like to know if CBC is picking up the finals, but couldn't see anything from searching. You'd have to think they'd want to after committing to random games throughout the year.

Although, maybe OneSoccer gets right because they put all that money up front. Either way, the OneSoccer broadcasts have been pretty grainy for me lately, really hoping to watch the final with a proper broadcast.

Can someone explain the CanPL card accumulation suspension rules to me? Why is the suspension after 14 days instead of the next league match?

From what I understand it's because of potentially smaller rosters, and even smaller travelling rosters, and as such, allowing the clubs to have proper plans and backup players in place to replace that player. So if the Cavs go to York 9 and get two red cards and 2 or 3 yellows, and then have to play in Halifax 4 days later, they may not have all the substitute guys they'd need along on the trip (as they wouldn't come home first) for the second game.

I don't think it's that big a deal or teams have been left short, and not even sure the Cavs keep certain subs at home on any trip, it's a precautionary rule that they put in, just in case, for the new league with a smaller budget. I bet gets changed down to a week or something this offseason.

And as above to Jimmy, my mistake, I read an article on the CanPl website that said 5 Nov as the Canada USA match. Edit: This one https://canpl.ca/article/will-other-...d-of-u-s-match

Does anyone know if the CPL players are all on 1-year contracts or some of them on multi-year deals? I am just curious as to roster turnovers and the ability for clubs to develop players and then sell them for a profit...

It now shows up on Ticketmaster.

General sales start on Friday at 8 AM. Pre-sale starts on Thursday at 8 AM. Again, if anybody has a pre-sale code they are willing to share please send it my way!

Sounds like Zator is on the radar of the national team. IMO Zator, Didic, Gasparotto are all fighting for one of the depth CB spots. Didic was called up this morning, likely because Edmonton's season is all but over while Zator has some massive games at the end of the month.

Me too, I need information on pre-sale codes for the Championship as well as for season tickets next year. The unnecessary suspense is killing me

I haven't heard anything about the seasons tickets yet, but I'll post when I do.

No code for the presale yet, but I'll also post this for you when it comes out.

On a tangent, I've got two tickets for tomorrow night that I suddenly can't use If anyone needs a pair in the 200's just let me know and cheer the boys on to what I hope is another 8-0 thrashing of the Valour!
