So it looks like this is replacing bistro 1882 that was there before. It must be some new people as I recalled reading that the previous couple that owned (cooked and waited) there were done and ready to move on. Next time I am in the area I'll have to give it a go.

D.O.P. was really good. We had the grilled bread and whipped ricotta, smoked beef fat cracker (so good), raviolo (amazing flavours), some special beet stuffed pasta (tasted like really really good cheesy garlic bread strangely), and veal chop parm (absolutely massive and delicious).

Pho Dau Bo on 17th Ave SE is the best Pho in the city, hands down. The broth is absolutely amazing and mindlblowing how much flavour they can extract from the bones. It's the closest thing to authentic Vietnamese flavors this side of the pacific ocean.
They also have an amazing spicy lime-chili carpaccio, and a velvety smooth whipped egg Vietnamese coffee that I order every time.
Seriously, its the best Vietnamese restaurant in the city. Once you've had their sate beef pho you won't be able to go anywhere else.

anyone who's had Pho Dau Bo and Mot To back to back, is there a wide gap? they're the same people so I'm hoping I'm not missing out too much by skipping the long ass drive to PDB.

Went to the newer Jane Bond BBQ which took over Grumman's deli in the beltline across from Keynote/Sunterra on 11th ave.
It was okay, things were good when hot but it may have been reheated because it was a dead time in the middle of the day - the meat was a bit flavorless/dry and not juicy/moist and everything needed to have sauce to give you good flavor and mouth feel. Still delicious but not as good as other BBQs.
I still miss the huge number of sauces that Holy Smoke used to provide.

I've been to Mot To once, but decided to be adventurous and try the Crab and Pork Tomato soup instead of the sate beef.
While it was good, it was too fishy-tasting for me and I ended up switching bowls with my gf who had the spicy lemongrass soup, which was very good (and very spicy!), but it was not quite to the level of PDB's glorious sate beef.
Mot To does have the sate beef on their menu though, and considering its the same ownership group I would bet that it would be very close to PDB's.
Give it a shot and let us know!

Can vouch for Mot To spicy peanut sate. Very good, and far closer to me than Pho Dau bo. It has replaced it entirely in our household.

Went to Fortuna’s Row last and it was fantastic. Did their tasting menu and and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend!

We had brunch there on Saturday on the patio. Great meal, we had the Bandeja Paisa and the Chilaquiles.
Love that interior space too, really beautiful inside.

Their burgers are good size and texture, but they oversalt them. If they just toned down the salt they'd be amazing.

Went to see what the hype was for Shika Menya, lineup around the corner in the rain at 11AM!
Got in eventually and had the classic Tonkatsu like I try at most places to get a baseline to start. Way too salty, I have what feels like a sodium/msg headache right now. Slices of pork char siu were cold like they just came out of the fridge and tasted bland like cold ham. Bill was $60 for two people.
I don't get the hype. Very disappointed.

I agree, it's crazy how popular it is for being pretty average.
