I've come around on the Donald (not in a support way because I can't support a guy with dead rodents on his head) and will now say Trump is probably better than 50/50 to win the general. I wanted to believe the average American isn't one of the stupidest groups of people on the planet, but it seems they're committed to showing it. They want Trump to win because they want an ignorant ####### in office who is just like them: an ignorant #######. Remember Trump isn't targeting any specific group of voters other than stupid, low information voters. And that's at least half the population. So I think he's still somehow being undersold.

There's virtually nothing he can do to lose support at this point, and we all know how mob mentality works. And Hillary is simply far too unlikeable and there's almost nothing she can do to change that either, and the Dems should be trying to sabotage her campaign to ensure she isn't the nominee. Instead they're sabotaging Bernie's campaign.

Please don't tell me you seriously believe this. He's going to be lucky to come away with 100 electoral votes IF he's even the nominee. He's going to get absolutely crushed by minorities and women, he doesn't have a chance. Can't alienate 3/4 of the country and expect to win.

No, I refuse to believe Trump would win the "minority" vote, which I think at this point may make up the majority.

The majority of Americans aren't upset white middle aged guys, the majority of Americans are women, black people, hispanics, etc. On that basis alone, he will never reach presidency based on what he's already said.

Also, even if he takes the GOP, he doesn't actually have any policies, so he'll get torn to shreds in a presidential debate.

I hang around with more than my share of Republican supporters. I have yet to run into a single person who wants Trump as president. I don't think any of them could bring themselves to vote for Hillary though if that was the choice, so I'd guess there'd be a pretty good chunk of abstaining voters. I don't really know who the Trump supporters are, but I would assume Trump doesn't grow much beyond his 25-30% as candidates start dropping out.

Clinton is a consummate politician who will have the absolute support of corporate America as well as much of the Republican Party, Trump has thus far got by because no one thinks he's going to win therefore haven't cared when he says, 'Don't worry about it I'll just get it magically done'

The presidential election is like heads up poker, every position is picked apart and Trump will be eviserated by Clinton on his utter lack of any policies.

If trump wins the GOP nomination he will end up running for all practical purposes, as an independant, he will get no support from the party what so ever.

I don't like Clinton, but you're acting like Trump isn't any of those things. He's all that and worse. He's also a philandering hypocrite who thinks he's better than everyone. He never misses an opportunity to run his mouth, even over stuff he obviously nothing about (every quote regarding foreign policy for instance). He insults, he denegrades and he's a bigot. He's easily the least presidential candidate I've seen in my lifetime. Eventually all the vile things he's said will be thrown in his face and he'll be done like dinner. You can't run a campaign based solely on vitriol, fear and lies and not have it come back to haunt you. There's such a thing as playing it too safe and there's what Trump has done... the complete opposite. All his opponent will have to do is play sound bites from his campaign over and over for months and he's toast. There's just no defending the hateful bile he has spewed with the majority of the population. Voters memories are short, but they aren't that short.

He's doing well now because the vote is being spilt amongst a large field and he's tapping into a well of frustration and misplaced anger. Once the field narrows, he'll be weeded out like EVERY extreme presidential candidate ever. The thing with Republicans is that they are heavily reliant on moderates swinging their way in a presidential election. Romney could only get 47% and he wasn't even close to winning. What makes you think Trump can bridge that gap? He's done nothing but piss off half of his own party, I can easily imagine what swing voters must think of him. Much less women, blacks, hispanics, etc, etc.

He's got no chance in the general but he's doing pretty well so far for a fake campaign/publicity stunt, I'll give him that.

As a constitutional law professor Obama would know how executive orders are used and what constraints they can be used to address. The use of executive orders is hardly something new. Maybe look into these things instead of taking the framing of one party as gospel.

History of Executive Orders

Obama has used executive orders less than any president since Grover Cleveland, 20 presidents ago. Don't let things like facts get in the way though.
