Yikes...
Quote:
As part of ongoing domestic disputes involving Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs and the mother of his two children, Suggs was required last month to surrender several firearms, according to Justin Fenton and Jeff Zriebiec of the Baltimore Sun.
“The guns were surrendered over to police pursuant to the court order, and they [Suggs and Candace Williams] are resolving their issues,” Suggs’ lawyer, Warren Alperstein, told the Sun. “All I can tell you is that he’s in rightful and lawful possession of the guns but turned them over pursuant to the requirements of the law.”
The catalyst for the recent order isn’t clear; however, the Sun reports that two 911 calls were made from Suggs’ address on November 21.
In 2009, Williams claimed in an application for a protective order that Suggs “threw a soap dispenser at her head, hit her in the chest with his hand, and held a bottle of bleach over her and their 1-year-old son.” The allegations were not investigated by the authorities.

This could be over quick. Already 10-0 Broncos and they have the ball back.

Broncos need to convert these opportunities into TDs not FGs. Raiders look terrible but you can never predict rivalry games. Probably. Carson Palmer is really bad though.

Not having DT really slows down the Broncos offense. Thursday night games are sloppy. Need to find a way to get an ugly win tonight.

I think the Raiders are trying to set a record for holding calls during a single drive.

Broncos look really good and now Peyton Manning will get extra time to study up for the Ravens next Sunday.

Quite the Xmas gift for DEN, for Manning to fall into their laps, for nothing. Will be tough to beat.

They took a chance and it has paid off big time.
No one was really sure how much arm strength Manning was going to recover, so for the big contract he was going to receive the Broncos took a risk.
Of course everyone (almost) knew he was going to be better than who they had - you can only pin your hopes on a prayer so often.

The Broncos lived by their defence last season. It was the only thing that kept them in games until the final quarter and they had the defensive ROY so I don't think the defence was a surprise at all.

I'm happy for Moreno, I loved the pick when we drafted him in the 1st round (16th overall I think). He seemed very mature and and intelligent in interviews, and the way he personallly asked Darrent Williams mother if he could use his #27.
He looked to be on track to be a legit #1 back but injuries have really held him back, its great watching him get the chance to play and taking advantage of it

He was the 12th pick I believe. I don't like that he wears #27 at all. There is only one #27 and it wasn't Williams, it was Atwater.

Finally been watching the last few NFL Sound FX I had PVR'd. I'm now pretty convinced every NFL player only knows 2 sayings after a big play; "All day!" or "Let's Go!!"

John Fox has to feel like he's in a dream. After fighting tooth and nail for years winning with the likes of Jake Delhome, and Tim Teebow, he now has Peyton Manning tossing the rock for him. They've been held under 20 points once all season long. Last year with Teebow, they only scored more than 20 points 3 times in 11 games, and one was a 26 point loss to New England.

Cowboys NT Josh Brent charged with Intoxicated Manslaughter in death of his teammate, Jerry Brown.

“Officers at the scene believed alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash; therefore, Price-Brent was asked to perform field sobriety tests,” a statement from the Irving Police Department said. “Based on the results of the tests, along with the officer’s observations and conversations with Price-Brent, he was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to an area hospital for a mandatory blood draw. Once it was learned that the passenger of his vehicle had died as a result of the crash, Price-Brent was booked into the Irving City Jail on one count of Intoxication Manslaughter.”

It seems I can't come into this thread without reading about another NFL player dying, killing someone, getting gun charges, rape charges, drunk driving charges, or assault charges.
Just bizarre. A league of idiots.
And then I watch interviews with Arian Foster and he's an intelligent, well-spoken fella who seems like the nicest person in the league. If I'm a parent, I would hope my kid would look up to Foster as a role model over someone like Suggs.

Fact remains: a lot of these kids still come from nothing, no money, a different way of living a lot of us cannot relate with and then suddenly you're a millionaire, women throwing themselves at you, everyone's best friend and suddenly under an intense spotlight of attention.
As a consumer of the NFL product, I have a hard time condemning what any player does off the field outside of rape or murder. These players basically treated like cattle, head injury after head injury and no matter the severity or the person hurt, we're all back watching next week.
