A person with confirmed measles has been in multiple public settings in the Calgary Zone while infectious, Alberta Health Services says.
Friday evening, the provincial health authority named several locations and said there could be more.
AHS named the following locations:
J Club Grill and Bar (#500 26 McKenzie Towne Gate S.E. in Calgary) on May 29 between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.;
Country Hills Golf Club (1334 Country Hills Blvd. N.W. in Calgary) on May 30 between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.;
Shane Homes YMCA at Rocky Ridge (11300 Rocky Ridge Rd. N.W. in Calgary) on June 1 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.;
and Kananaskis Country Golf Course (1 Lorette Dr. in Kananaskis Village) on June 4 between 3:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
Just a Measles Marty (Typhoid Mary reference) out and about with no care whatsoever for anyone else.

The problem with measles is you are contagious before being symptomatic. So once the symptoms hit, they work backwards to all the places they hit.
Which is why it's so important to get vaccinated, so you don't go spreading it to the vulnerable and ignorant.

An infected person can spread the virus from four days before the rash appears until four days after.
So May 29th to June 4th, 8 days. Whoever this was would have had symptoms, rash, but was still out there

If you have measles and were never vaccinated you should 100% serve time in prison.

She definitely does not get that it is consumer sentiment that is driving the ban, and not her whim. Does she really think that Albertans are going to run to American products, just because she gives the all powerful thumbs up?

That article says she was down in the U.S. this week for meetings. The question is was she down there by herself again representing strictly Alberta and her own self interest? Or was she actually representing Canada?
Trade Minister LeBlanc was also in Washington this week, so I certainly hope she was part of that delegation and not being a total f***wit by acting on her own. No doubt that Carney would be pissed about that, especially since it's known that he's been talking directly to Trump over the past week ahead of the G7 meeting.

The sepearatists will. But ya, the reality is the stores that didn't pull them still seem to have stock, and it feels like maybe this was triggered by the central warehouses running low on stock. So the the government purchase hold didn't have much additional effect, it's been consumer behaviour.
But it's also probably from her folding like a lawn chair to the demands of US governors. It certainly isn't Albertans asking for this.
Maybe before the order goes through Carney can slap a 50% tariff on US booze.

Ah yes, we should treat them the same as they did during COVID. Refuse medical advice until it actually affects you and then take up all the resources, leaving people who actually did their part to suffer.
That should help for sure.

Albertas discrimination plan to harm youths doesn't mention any funding for mental health supports for those it further harms, so that tells you how much they care.
Question though, why do under 18 need any of this, since they can't use preferred names, pronouns, use puberty blockers, aren't they making legislation that has no one to apply it to? Birth records seem unnecessary.(That's snark, if you are going to explain details to me)

Same sentiment for this move by Eby and BC?
Quote:
Eby's trip to Japan, South Korea and Malaysia is part of that effort, with the premier looking to sell investors and governments on the province's mining, natural resource and softwood lumber sectors.

Is the whole country embroiled in a trade war with Japan, South Korea and Malaysia?
I would say under normal circumstances the Premier should be having meetings for trade.. but right now is not normal in relation to trade with the US and any signs of fracture can have serious consequences affecting the rest of the country.

The main part of the initial question/criticism is whether Smith was representing Alberta and her own self interest or Canada as a whole. We clearly see that Eby's trip is all about BC and finding markets for his provinces goods and resources. Do you think he is also trying to selling Sask's uranium and potash or Quebec's iron ore and aluminum. If Smith is a punching bag for trying to improve trade than so should Eby be. Not to mention that Eby also skipped out on the First Ministers meeting with Carney to go sell his goods in Asia. That was a crucial meeting with all the leaders, except him, to discuss the economic uncertainty, tariffs and path forward for Canada. The last time a Premier wasn't in person for the First Ministers meeting (albeit they attended remotely) they were severely criticized.

I work part time in a liquor store. Many customers really do want their bourbon and Californian wines.
