Anyone else see him chug half a pitcher in the streets on TSN and then auction the other half off to himself for $1000??? Hillarious. For those that don't know, he is a part time auctioneer.

As frustrating as our games have been in the Alpine events, at least we aren't Austria. Apparently their media is just ripping their entire ski team for winning only 1 medal so far. They had 14 alpine medals in Turin.

I was downtown last night and man was it hopping. This city is having a party 24/7. It was elbow room only in the streets. We stopped at earls for beer and food. Then a guy with a massive Canadian flag ran in and started o Canada. The entire restaurent along with staff all stopped and sang , people waving flags.
Then we went to the cauldron and took pictures. Just as we were walking up, we heard a massive roar behind us, you could hear all of downtown cheering because Montgomery won gold! Then it seemed like the entire city was singing o Canada. I've never seen such patriotism in this country. Record numbers of people downtown last night and every one was just in a happy mood.

Russia is doing the same to their whole contingent...especially with Plyshenko crying foul last night....and with losing to Slovakia in hockey.

the athletes are for the most part saying the tracks /hills are great and the reason there are so many crashes is because it's just a really tough course.

I'm gonna make sure I don't eat any of that President's Choice Blue Menu stuff, since it doesn't seem to be helping, but hindering our alpine skiing team.

Sounds exactly like it was in Calgary in 88.
I remember being in Coconut Joes(or Banditos cant remember) on electric ave when Manley skated unexpectedly to the bronze...place exploded and we were dancing on the bar. Good times.

I know a couple of people involved, and that is the word.
Tough courses are hard on inferior athletes or those that approach them over confident.
I've heard this one is especially hard to make up time on anyone unless you really race the whole course on the edge. I don't see anything wrong with that, it's a dangerous sport.

Isn't it grossly unfair that the Austrian coach gets to design the course, to the strengths of his skiers? How is this permitted?

Anybody else see the growing humitlity in the presidents choice commercial?
We all knew there was no way the skiers are eatching that trash, but they like to throw out the 'if it helps them win races this year...; as we have won none of them

Watching woman's ski jumping, and the commentator just said something about the chinese contingent.
A chinese skiier bailed hard on a landing, and "the chinese have a large medical contingent along with their athletes, and a member of that team was quick to pick her up and carry her off the course before Vanoc medical staff could check her."
Weird.

For whatever reason the live updating on the Vancouver 2010 site is not working for the Women's Super G. Can someone give some periodic updates? What happened to Emily Brydon?

Oy vay...Silver it was....yes it was a long 16 days. I was fortunate enough to have a buddy of mine from high school show up in town while in his final year of university ay Arizona St. his dad had been a bigwig in Calgary at one point and his cousin was the GM of the Claudios group. He gave us passes into any bar they owned and all without waiting in line...it was a couple weeks of living like rock stars.
really great time in my life though...will never forget it as i didnt think one could pack that much fun into 2 weeks.
