Well at least they will get the first overall pick in the draft. Dave’s first season as GM has become a horror show for the organization. There’s going to have to be changes. This team has not been well coached and prepared.

Just awful to watch at almost all times. Maier absolutely sucks *ss, it's not even debatable. It's really too bad about the two US leagues starting up, as it took away the ability to grab good QB's when a CFL one sucks.

This league is dying and the lack of ability to acquire quali.....half decent QB's may be the final nail.

What does Maier have on Dave? Did he help cover up a murder or something? So frustrating watching him make the same mistakes again and again and they keep putting him in. If you have so little faith in your backup, you need to reevaluate your team building strategy.

I do think the coaching staff needs a shakeup. Things have been stale for a few seasons now. Monson hasn’t fielded a good defense in a few years now and the offensive play calling is arguably worst in the league. They can change the players again but I would expect similar results with the same coaching staff. It’s no longer a team strength and is now part of the problem.

You know he's the GM and coach now, right? Are you saying someone would hire him immediately as a GM or GM/coach, or try to hire him back down to just coach?

So you dont believe getting a competent QB would have any change on the results?Never mind the plays they would be able to call with someone that can throw a ball more than 25 yards downfield?

The team has holes .....starting at QB but hardly limited to that position. The Oline is a mess and that will be a priority is my guess regardless of who they bring in to challenge Maier.

As for the defense...it is also in shambles but look at the injury list too, they are and have been missing key guys.

Im not opposed to a change at DC mind you its because i like aggressive D, and Monson plays way too much zone for my liking and wit a change in philosophy they likely need to change personel as well.

There are issues for sure, but blaming DD is just silly. The man knows this league and what works better than most people on this planet.

1 losing season in 23 years of pro football as a player or coach should be all the proof of that you need.

I don't know how you can't blame Dickenson for the season. Should Elks fans be blaming Cornelous for the Elks being bad? Of course not. We all know it's on Chris Jones. When a team finishes last it's an organizational failure and Dickenson being the HC/GM has to take a lot of the blame. He's the guy that hand picked Maier. The team doesn't have an adequate backup QB. That's on the GM. The talent level is bottom half of the league. That's on the GM. The team has been sloppy all season. That's on the HC. The offensive play calling has been horrible. That's on the HC (we all know this is his offense). I'm not saying Dave needs to be fired but he has to bear a lot of responsibility for this mess.

I think DD deserves a lot of the blame, especially as a GM. The reason I don't think he should be fired is that I don't think it gets better if we bring in a new coach or GM.

A big part of that is that I don't think there are a lot of solid options in the CFL at either position which is a problem, but a lot also is due to the history that DD has shown in the league of being a quality coach and QB evaluator/developer.

But he 100% deserves a lot of blame for not only picking Maier, paying Maier but maybe the worst of all not having a single option other than a guy with 6-7 ok-ish games in the CFL. If the same thing happens next season I would 100% be willing to talk about moving on but I think he has earned the right for at least one more year.

The USFL and XFL are merging for the upcoming year, and apparently the XFL lost $60M last year. I think both of those leagues were ZIRP phenomena, and I'd guess that the combined league fails in the next 12 months.

The CFL has always gone through up and down, and I think there is some optimism from this year. There are some decent young-ish QBs in Edmonton, Toronto (I thought even their backup looked good the other day against Winnipeg), and Ottawa; TV viewership is apparently up, etc.

I think with savvy leadership the CFL can still be relevant.

As for the Stamps, DD has been running pretty much the exact same offence for years now, which I think is part of the problem. I think they should boot DD to the GM role, hire a new coach, and sign Chris Streveler for next year.

The Stamps also need a new stadium at some point - though not sure how that will ever come to fruition. Nobody wants to watch a game in a 63 year old stadium.
