I bumped the 2015-2015 offseason thread for you Jiggy. Disagree with me all you want (that's what this place is for), but don't make stuff up because you don't like my position. I liked both the Happ and Floyd signings.

I'm just teasing, I always enjoy the discussion.

Looks like I missed a great game tonight! We seem to be picking up a little steam here.

Glad I left 1% room for error lol. My bad then.

I just recalled you having a very severely negative opinion towards those kinds of signings (reclamation projects, older vets, etc) and I assumed those guys would have been part of the pack you didn't like. I didn't look up your exact posts, was just going off what I thought I remembered.

But alas, you found the evidence and you won this internet argument. I concede.

It has nothing to do with winning an Internet argument, and everything to do with people not being able to accept that you can be a fan of a team and still be vocally opposed to their direction and those same people doing everything they can do to discredit me as a result. I'm not even saying it's you I'm talking about its just your post that set me off. It's pretty frustrating to be a 30+ year Blue Jays fan and be told by people who just started being a "fan" in the past couple years to stop being negative (again not pointed at you).

Getting back on topic, I have no problem with the Jays taking on reclamation projects like Biagini and Flloyd. What I have a problem with is when you use those projects to fill actual holes in your lineup. Good teams don't do that. They sign these guys to potentially supplement their roster, not complete it. Imagine if the Jays had adequately addressed their bullpen this summer. They'd be so far in front of the pack they'd be laughing despite hitting well below their projections.

Well you weren't wrong. I had made a comment before I even read your post that the Jaya needed some cash to pay Grili's salary (is it said that half of me really does believe that?)

Didn't they also get cash along with Grilli? Dude only makes $4 mil!

The braves are basically covering everything except the league minimum and his 250K buyout next year.

I'm surprised that a waiver wire pickup being swapped for cash has brought up this much discussion, happens all the time in baseball.

As CG mentioned, the Braves are covering most of Grilli's salary but let TAO continue to beat the "Jays Are Cheap" drum.

ultimate jinx post ever since this post

The Raptors got eliminated loosing 2 straight by a average of 32 points a game.

Jays are 7-1 outscoring the opposition 46-27, winning by 2.375 runs a game on average.

Thanks V

(yes if the Jays get swept by the sox it's my fault)

PS i hate off days, can you tell I'm bored?

Sweeping the Red Sox would be spectacular. That's the type of stuff that put them on a downwards spirals.

Hopefully we can at least get a series win. Really liking what I am seeing lately. Manufacturing runs without the home run, starting pitching still going strong, bullpen (although still Bad) starting to show signs of life.

I will admit that as of today the Jays have a better chance of making the playoffs than the Raps making the Finals. I still think they aren't going to do it. Please bookmark and quote this post if they do make it.

We'd be in tough to make the playoffs I think, but we might be able to snag a wildcard game if we really have turned a corner.

They are only 4 games out of first, while having the best offense from last year all having ridiculous difficulties that are being worked out.

Add in an easy 2nd half schedule, and I think the Jays are still the odds on favourite to win the division.

Put me down as being in the definitely going to make it column.

But then again I'm still picking crow out of my teeth for absolutely insisting the Sharks weren't even going to make the playoffs this year.

Baltimore just crushed Boston tonight. Nice to see. Hopefully we can do the same.

The playoffs are so far away it's not realistic to say if they will make it or not right now.

They've played 55 games, which is 34% of the schedule - basically a 3rd of the season is gone. Translate that to a hockey season and we are looking at about 28 games in which would be around late November. Way too early to say one way or another, at least from my point of view.

If the Jays starting pitching holds up (Stroman and Sanchez get their inning limits thrown out the window) and the bullpen can get their #### together, there's no way this team does not at least get a wildcard spot.

People keep talking Boston (which are a good team), but Baltimore is the team that scares me in the AL East. Their lineup is as ridiculous as the Jays from an offensive perspective.

It is early, and they are certainly still in the hunt, but how do you figure they are odds on favorites?
