I have found, through empirical studies, that maintaining a work relationship with an idiot is much harder after you call them on it.

Sorry, your logic escapes me. Why exactly should the police not draw their sidearms when faced with a threat? This is totally normal.

You never know what a threat is so you always do whatever you can to be ready. It could be that there are suicide bombers or gunmen or other attacks that follow up an explosion.

The mother of the two suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing says she believes the tragedy that killed three people and injured dozens more was staged, that the bombing was fake.

"I haven't," she answered. There was no blood, she said. It was paint. But her disbelief broke down when she spoke of the victims.

"I really feel sorry for all of them. Really feel sorry for all of them," she said, her voice cracking. But she is resolute about not believing that her sons, Dzhokhar, 19, and Tamerlan, 26 were involved.

The actors had to have their legs amputated in order to play their roles. You have to respect their commitment, but you can still feel sorry for them.

The surviving suspect in the Boston bombings has told investigators that he and his brother planned to bomb Times Square, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Thursday.
"Last night we were informed by the FBI that the surviving attacker revealed that New York City was next on their list of targets," Bloomberg said.
The two came up with the plan spontaneously after the Boston bombing, as the talked in a car they hijacked, New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said.
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev initially told investigators that he and his brother had talked about going to New York to "party," but after further questioning he revealed that they planned to use remaining explosives there,

I think she is one of the, if the single most, level-headed commentators/show hosts on American television.

Yes she is extremely left leaning, but her abilities to seperate ideology from her conclusions is very commendable.

A breath of fresh air amongst the pollution of stink so often found among news network commentaries.

The 26-year-old Chinese entrepreneur had just pulled his new Mercedes to the curb on Brighton Avenue to answer a text when an old sedan swerved behind him, slamming to a stop. A man in dark clothes got out and approached the passenger window. It was nearly 11 p.m. last Thursday.

The man rapped on the glass, speaking quickly. Danny, unable to hear him, lowered the window — and the man reached an arm through, unlocked the door, and climbed in, brandishing a silver handgun.

“Don’t be stupid,” he told Danny. He asked if he had followed the news about the previous Monday’s Boston Marathon bombings. Danny had, down to the release of the grainy photos of suspects less than six hours earlier.

“I did that,” said the man, who would later be identified as Tamerlan Tsarnaev. “And I just killed a policeman in Cambridge.”

He ordered Danny to drive — right on Fordham Road, right again on Commonwealth Avenue — the beginning of an achingly slow odyssey last Thursday night and Friday morning in which Danny felt the possibility of death pressing on him like a vise.
