Was just going to say..
NHL average D is 6'2". So talking about the big body, big frame of a 6'1" guy is pretty clueless. Especially when the guy we are trading is the biggest forward on the team.

Isn't Beulieu the guy that calgary had ranked ahead of Sven? Then they made last minute change in rankings and took Sven?

No it was Ryan Murphy. Hurricanes took him

The only 3 guys I would make a trade for on RW and give up a fair amount
1. Wayne Simmonds
2. Brendan Gallagher
3. TJ Oshie
I love those guys and their play. And they would also be good to play 1st or 2nd line RW.
Random thoughts but I feel it would be a big upgrade on Jones and would let Colbourne control that 3rd line RW nicely.

Simmonds would be amazing. Exactly what this team needs, it would cost a LOT though. Gallagher don't agree at all, we need to get bigger.

I tink tinordi addresses the flames' needs more and he'll be cheaper than beaulieu. Wasn't there talk that tinordi was being shopped/wanted out? he's been past on their depth chart. No guarantee he'd stick with calgary's roster either though as i think he's had some consistency issues.

Tinordi is an interesting case. There is potential there for sure but does he become a Chris Breen?

If Tinordi were available, I think the Flames should be all over it. He's a big defender and plays the kind of game we need. He'd be a bit of a project but the potential is there. I'd rather give up a similar forward prospect or someone like Raymond for a shot at Tinordi. I will openly say I have no idea what the habs would want for him though, I just like the idea of getting him.

I agree we need to get physical and bigger and Im not saying Gallagher is my first choice but he does hit and get pesky like Byron does. He's an energy line player.
What do you think Simmonds would cost? Like Philly is kinda broken down and probably would be looking for change.

He's a big, physical 26 year old near-30 goal scorer.
They'd want a LOT for him.

Plus he's on a terrific contract, which makes his value even higher!
It would take a lot. Philly is on tough times cap wise but he won't be available

1st, 2nd, high B-level prospect? Maybe not enough.

Hey guys - With LA in obvious cap troubles and more rumours circling with the Kings' trying to move Brown and Richards, would you make the following trade?
Note: Richards - 5yrs @ 5.75
CGY:
1st '15 (13th) + Forbort
Richards
LA:
Drew Shore

Highly doubt LA would be willing to make that deal. They will find a cheaper solution to move Richards. That deal could handcuff us down the road as well.

^ Is Forbort a real prospect because if so we should keep him just for the name.
Edit: Ah I see I read that deal backwards. I don't think LA is that desperate to trade Richards, they have already seen him clear waivers so my guess is they would just bury his contract again rather than trading away their first rounder

You can't "burry" contracts anymore. His cap-hit stays with the team.
And the buyout looks really ugly too.

If LA was willing to give up their 1st+ they probably would have already traded Richards.
