Just stepping down to be Speaker but the fcact he left his name in to be Speaker means he wanted out of cabinet. Speaker is insulated from the upcoming storm.

He's backing the separatist referendum, so perhaps this gives him a bit more control over how it is all going to go down? Can we have a trap door installed under his chair?

I don't always agree with Jen Gerson but I typically find her opinions to be well thought out. She is exactly right on this.
