Overall I thought it was a good episode... But man, that tiny horse sketch may have been the worst sketch I've seen in 5 years.

Yea, that was...something.

The rest of the show was pretty good, although I'll admit I had to google Timothee Charlamet to find out who the hell he is.

Melissa Villasenor's Dolly impression was terrific.

Springsteen was awesome as usual.

Timothy Chalamet is a great actor. I enjoyed the episode.

Favorite sketches were Dionne Warwick (nice to see Ego in a more comedic role rather than playing the straight woman) and the Lexus short.

Bruce and the other dude screaming into the mic made me cringe. Droplets droplets everywhere!

I really liked that paint splatter dress.

Questlove is so cool.

I really like him in The King and Lady Bird. He’s a great actor. The Harry Styles impersonation was very good.

I find my favorite aspects of SNL now are Weekend Update and any recorded short that they do such as music videos, commercial spoofs and what not. Most of the live sketches are pretty awful. But when they have time to invest and perfect something it usually turns out pretty well.

I thought that was a weak episode, and it was on the writing.

Rona sketch was a bit on the nose. Tiny horse was next level terrible. The cake sketch was a much less funny version of the Eddie Murphy sketch. And I think the person who finds the Wenowdis funniest is Kate

I think the kid seemed like a decent actor and tried to do his best, but the material wasn’t there. I think there is a big difference between the show quality when Eddie Murphy, Chapelle, and Bill Burr host, and some young kid who may rely more on the writers.

I don't know. I always had a huge amount of respect for Springsteen for giving it all he can on stage and for writing his songs about something real and meaningful..., but I have never liked any of his songs except for "Born in the USA". One song, that's it. They all sound the same to me, musically, as if he sings them all on one chord and even one note. A guy I know is in a cult of sorts, where he goes to every Springsteen's concert he can - he's been to 47 of them over the past 20 years or so. I just don't get it. Entertainment is a weird phenomenon...

I thought Chalamet's hosting and the overall episode were a meh to meh+...

I went to an amnesty concert in the late 80s- went primarily to see Peter Gabriel and as a Police fan, Sting. Gabriel was really good but 2 performances from that night stand out to me to this day- Tracy Chapman essentially alone on stage with her guitar, and Springsteen. After seeing him that night I pretty much get it . I haven't becoming an uber fan or anything, but I could see why someone- once seeing him live, would go back for more

See, right there. Gabriel and Sting are both eons above Springsteen as musicians, as poets, as composers and as arrangers. Yet, Springsteen's performance had impressed you more. I believe you. But I don't understand that.

The music industry has so many examples of people being successful based on entertainment they provide vs those with greater relative musical proficiency

Questlove slapping the Soundcloud rapper was the highlight for me.

Sting shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as Springsteen. What has that pretentious fop done since the Police?

Bruce is still writing popular music and blowing fans away on stage 3 hours at a time.

I like Sting, and he's put out some good stuff over the years. But I agree, Springsteen is on another level entirely. Hands down one of the greatest songwriters/poets/performers of our generation.
