Not to mention how pathetic they played in the previous game. Most elite teams will bounce right back after a game like that, especially on home ice. But strangely they've pulled a complete no-show in this one. I don't get it. The Oilers haven't even been good in this game. 2 of their goals were handed to them on a sliver platter with the McPP, and 9 times out of 10 that 3rd goal doesn't even go in.

This timeline is just the worst.

They are playing a strong team defensive game, which they've done most of the season.

They have had great underlying stats all year.

They've built confidence now and are playing well.

Vancouver had them on the ropes and let them off, and Dallas has just looked off all series. Dallas looks like a team that lacks true stars against the Oilers right now.

Hockey is all about matchups and how you deal with your opponent. Dallas probably thought their depth was better but you gotta admit, Oilers PK is on fire. Skinner has found most of his game.

It's not over but it's all about matchups. Then Leafs are still talking about their series win last year vs Tampa, their first since 2004. They don't mention that Tampa was coming off 3 straight cup finals appearances. They were just gassed.
