Not sure if anyone here has even watched a Panthers game this year but Gudbranson has been alright actually - he's finally taken a step forward in his development and Panthers brass is very happy with him.

He's not a bottom pairing guy, he's better than that already and will continue to develop.

2. Dropped options with Del Colle and Draisaitl 1st

For the poll, is this if the Flames get the #1 pick or if we're predicting who'll get picked first because those are different answers. I'd put Ekblad as the Flames #1 option but if the sabres get the pick, I don't think they take him.

Went Reinhart - Bennett - Ekblad - Draisaitl - Dal Colle

But Bennett and Ekblad are so close that it's a total toss up. I still think we need that elite forward over the D-man though. Gio has several years left so we have time to address it I feel.

Yes I think I screwed up mine as well as I read the poll one way as in how I think they will get selected on draft day. Two different answers as Poe was asking.

Don't know what it is about Draisaitl but he doesn't seem to step up his game when he needs to (take him, Oil!). Dal Colle appears to have better offensive instincts and shot to me. Bennett has a good amount of everything and is a machine on the ice, less downside than DC or Draisaitl, and Reinhart/Ekblad each look like the most surefire 1st line/1st pairing players of the draft, automatically get the first two spots.

Just not feeling good about Draisaitl. However, if he is the BPA after the other four are picked, I wouldn't mind taking him either. Hope we draft 4th, gives us a better chance of trading up and offering less for the top pick if we feel so inclined to do so.

Exactly what I was thinking. I have nothing against any of these guys but I would prefer one over another, I'd still be happy with any of those guys and I think that it'll be great for the Flames going forward to have one of them in our system.

Its close between Bennett and Ekblad tho. I think Bennett could end up similar to Duchene and Ekblad similar to Hedman with the potential to be Weber. Reinhart=Bergeron? I'd be fine with any of those 3 really.

All this Bennett talk had me pretty pumped so I put it to a poll and what do you know ... top 4 answers total 76% and they all have Draisaitl and Dal Colle 4/5 or 5/4

Bennett will most likely be picked in the top 3. If anybody was to drop, it would be Draisaitl unless Edmonton picks him up.

I just really hope we go after Ekblad because he already seems like he is NHL ready. RH shot, has great size, and is a defenseman. He is definitely the BPA for the Flames if he is still on the board when we draft him. It's unfortunate because it's highly unlikely he drops out of the top 3, assuming we end up in 4th or 5th.

Burke really needs to look into Ekblad because I think the BPA's next year are forwards.

I had a hard time deciding between Reinhart and Ekblad as the #1 pick, but I went with Reinhart because having Reinahrt, Monahan and Backlund as the Flames top 3 centers excites me.
