3rd and 19, down by two scores, 2:30 left in the game...let's run the ball up the middle.
Thanks, Andy!

I wonder who will win a game next. The Eagles, the Phillies, or the Flyers.

Best news for Eagles fans is that the next head coach probably won't be sold on Foles. Looks like the Eagles will definitely be picking top 10, maybe top 5. Are you hoping for Barkley, Geno Smith or someone else?

This is a bad year to suck. Barkley has too many limitations to be a high pick to me. Too Matt Leinhart for my liking. Smith has intriguing talent, but he's struggled late in the season. If he can't find secondary receivers, he'll only go so far at the next level.

Regarding the Bronco game I was most impressed with the defense making Doug Martin a complete non factor. 56 yards on 18 carries? Ouch. When Knowshon outperforms you that's bad.
The Baltimore game in a few weeks will be the real measuring stick, only good team they've had to play since October. The schedule worked out well for them but I worry about a shock when getting to the playoffs. You can beat up on bad teams all season but is that really a recipe for postseason success? They've only beaten two better than .500 teams this season, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati.

I can't recall a Cowboy game that I watched this year that wasn't entertaining. I've only watched 5 or 6, but they all seem to be entertaining.

That's true. However, there first 6 games was the toughest schedule in the league with a new quarterback (who was away for over a year and coming off a serious injury) and new offensive coordinator.
They played the Steelers, Atlanta (in Atlanta), Houston and New England (in NE). The worst loss was by 10 points to NE. Otherwise, they lost by 6 twice to Houston and Atlanta. Since then the offense has been getting better (and Manning) and the defense has found itself. Even special teams has been outplaying other teams basically every game. Their 3 losses were to arguably the best 3 teams in the NFL before they started coming together.
That said, I still think they're the 3rd best team in the AFC behind Houston and NE. The Baltimore game will be telling. If they are able to play at home they will be a tough out but to do so NE would have to falter badly. I still think the Broncos are a very hard out in the playoffs this year the way Manning and the defense are playing.

Bah, when they have me thinking they might be on the right track, they come back and lay am egg.
But yeah, very happy they won yesterday, or the playoffs would have been a pipe dream.
Still going to be tough.

Considering every team the Cowboys are fighting for a spot with has the head-to-head advantage, I'd say it's pretty much impossible to get in the dance. I'm sure it'll come down to the very end only to break our hearts, true Cowboys fashion.

Detroit seemed to not realize that on what was obviously going to be the last play of the game, Indy didn't have to worry about the clock expiring on a pass that wasn't into the end zone. How else can you have no one even remotely in the same area as a reciever? Luck could have held on to the ball himself and ran in. Good on Luck for continuing to run in case a block was required. Good football sense there.
Russel Wilson looks like a good QB for seattle.
I was cheering for SF/Rams to end up in a tie again. Just before the 54 yard kick to win it all, I was wondering whether St Louis should just punt and play for the tie. The odds of hitting a 54 yarder are probably less than 50%, while punting nearly guarantees earning 50% of the points available for the game. However, St Louis is desperate to earn full points if they want to have any chance at the playoffs. If it was San Fransisco in that same situation, I bet they punt, to earn the tie.

"It was probably the biggest drive of the year for us," said Weeden, who overcame two first-half interceptions to pull out the victory with a clutch 14-play, 94-yard drive.
"It's big," said Weeden, who threw for a season-high 364 yards, most for a Browns rookie quarterback.
Two in a row, and should have beat DAL too.

My heart won't be broken this year. They win ugly and show signs even in the games they win of choking. Other than the first game of the year against the Giants. Romo and the offense are an such a yoyo troupe it's hard to know what to expect from them. The defense is just as inconsistent but scarier.
I'm expecting zilch.

Eagles have fired defensive line coach, Jim Washburn.
http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/...181816631.html
Quote:
Washburn had become a “cancer” around the team, according to one Eagles source, and had become increasingly difficult to work with after defensive end Jason Babin was released last week.
Washburn had threatened to quit after his protégé was cut, the source said. Andy Reid beat him to the punch and fired him with four games remaining.
Against the Redskins on Nov. 18, several linemen were told to “read” either run or pass rather than rush straight for the quarterback. When Babin and Cole were asked about the alteration after the game, they both answered, “Ask Coach Wash.”
While Washburn had been voicing his frustrations with Castillo’s play-calling to his players for a year and a half, he had become increasingly volatile about Bowles, team sources said.
When Babin was waived last Tuesday, Washburn was livid, team sources said, and he let Reid know it. Reid said that Washburn was OK with the decision, but the coach had already been formulating the idea of bringing Brasher back last week, a source close to Reid said.

How could Troy Aikman compete for this crown, he was 'burdened' with an effective run game and competent offensive co-ordinators!
