Did find this: https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/ont...fd7141d76.html

But couldn't easily find a similar graph for Ontario
The higher concentration of maple magats could also be a contributing factor for Alberta.

Holy crap, I just got a robocall from the Republican party of Alberta doing a survey on how I'd vote for separation, and if I'd support their party. I recommend doing the two questions(option 4 is to tell them to #### off) because at the end they give you an opportunity to record a voice message, where you can tell them all sorts of super fun stuff.

Caller ID was 587-872-8112 if you want to answer an unknown number.

This certainly isn't my original thought, but I've seen a lot online about the legal challenges that Alberta would face with treaties with Native bands. Best case scenario is even if Alberta somehow found a majority wanting to leave, they'd still have to square that with the Native bands under treaties with the Crown. I don't see that happening.

Any referendum on Alberta separation would fail spectacularly, and Smith knows it. This ridiculous bulls*** is all just for show. More red meat for the Maple MAGA clowns to keep them riled up and angry.

I'm sorry but I live in Alberta, and the people here are dumb as #### when it comes to politics. If it got to a referendum, the yes floor would be ~37%, because as the "conservatives" align in that direction the the libertarian hippies who make up ~20% of Alberta population, and think that the free man on land bull#### is conservativism would start running around town talking about how you'd have to be a moron to want to be Canadian, and a solid 17%+ of disengaged voters who intuitively know that the conservatives are "better" for the economy would say, well the "conservatives" say we'll be better off for the economy separating, and Spenshi will blow all of our money if we vote for him, so we have to vote to leave the country. Because yes they will be to stupid to know that a vote for unity isn't a vote for the NDP, because someone will have told them that it is.

An Alberta referendum is Brexit level of stupid just waiting to accidentally happen.

I wasn't super mean. Just told them to go touch grass and hoped that their pillows were warm on both sides for the duration of their lives.
