I've listened to three Nenshi interviews in the last 24 hours, and every media outlet has brought him on to talk about the decimation of the federal NDPs. If the media doesn't understand that they are different parties, then the average Albertan isn't going to understand it either.

I would have to think that the hardcore ANDPers, that would balk at a name change, have to be a pretty small minority, or not very intelligent.

The problem with the BC name change, was everything about the execution of the change, and that they had a lot of baggage. The name change was seen as running and hiding.

It could be as simple as getting rid of the 'new'. Alberta Democratic Party.

Alberta overhauls election laws to allow corporate donations, change referendum thresholds

Quote:
The Alberta government wants to bring back corporate and union political donations, eliminate the process of vouching for a voter's identity at election polling stations, and lower the threshold for recalls and referendums.
Quote:
The ban on corporate and union donations to political parties was in the first piece of legislation passed by Rachel Notley's NDP government in 2015.

If passed, Bill 54 will allow these types of contributions to an aggregate maximum of $5,000 to parties, constituency associations, candidates and third-party political advertisers. The bill also sets a separate contribution limit of $5,000 for leadership candidates.
Quote:
The use of tabulator or electronic vote counting machines will be banned under Bill 54 so ballots will have to be counted by hand. The bill sets a deadline of 12 hours for the unofficial vote count to be completed.

Jesus. How can anyone (other than the 1% inner circle who stand to tighten their control over the system) defend this ####ing ####? Enough is enough. Wake up, Alberta.

We should definitely let these stalwart environmentally conscious companies mine for coal in our backyard /s

When the Alberta Energy Regulator asked an Australian coal prospector to improve selenium monitoring and uphold the law at a proposed mining site, the firm’s CEO not only refused but threatened to sue individual members of the agency.
Documents obtained by The Tyee show that Peter Doyle, then CEO of Montem Resources, not only fought a request to establish monitoring for the fish-killing toxin and water pollutant at Tent Mountain, but entered into a two-year-long dispute process with the regulator.

Ya, Jason or the fact that everyone was wearing masks and distancing. We also had 37% vaccination coverage vs 21%. It's almost like this graph shows these things work.

Sure, but you claimed this graph and data was a proxy for leadership effectiveness?

I mean, it wasn't even that. Worldwide flu patterns were completely different in the 2019-20, 2020-21, and 2021-22 respiratory virus seasons compared to normal because of travel restrictions.

I'm assuming calgarygeoligist is just trolling. But if not, wow...

It's showing what ####ty leadership leads to, unless you are suggesting there are confounding factors, as there were for Kenney. Does Smith have an excuse? Or do you just view things so simply that's all you could take a shot at me for today?
