Maybe, just maybe, LA decides to engage in serious playoff hockey, takes Game 6 and rides the momentum to a Game 7 win on home ice.
Nah not a chance.

The Kings are absolute losers. When they won the cups it was from the leadership of Williams, Richard's, Stoll etc.
Kopitar and Doughty are complete losers without those guys. The team melts like butter any time they have a hint of success in the 1st round.
Honestly this might be the biggest loser team in the NHL. They got up 2 goals last game and have completely given up since that.

I really thought the Kings could take out the Oilers this season pretty swiftly. Honestly, I would have guessed in 5. Crazy how the momentum of the series completely shifted in a span of 10 seconds. Goes to show how fragile the Kings are.

Whether we want to admit it or not a team isn't going to take out the Oilers quickly as long as they have Connor Mcdavid on their team

As I keep saying, the Kings are terrible. Just imagine existing to lay out the welcome to 2nd round red carpet to a divisional rival annually. They should consider folding as they are just bad for the NHL playoffs. Just a waste of 82 games and 5 or 6 playoff games.

The worst part of this is that this SHOULD have been over in 4. The Kings looked decent enough for that.
"The challenge that broke the series" indeed.

I'm continually astonished how the seas always seem to part for the Oilers at just the right time. Oilers had such an easy path to the finals last year, from getting the Kings in round 1 and then an injured Canucks team missing their #1 goalie in round 2, Dallas folding like a cheap tent in round 3. I was convinced that that kind of fortunate sequence of events would likely never happen again. And yet here we are again about to potentially watch the same s*** happen for a 2nd year in a row.
This also just highlights how stupid the current playoff format is. Even Oiler fans are sick of playing the Kings.

I guess we just hope the Kings can finally win one in Edmonton and then hope for the best in game 7. At the very least drag this team to a Game 7.

The Oilers are a team that constantly does the wrong thing and can't get out of their own way, but at the end of the day things always work out for them.

In the last 4 playoff series the Grease Pigs have played, their opponents had them on the ropes. Only the Panthers were able to recover after taking their foot off the gas. Why do teams constantly let these scumbags back into series when they have them down. You would think the Kings would have known after the 2-0 series start that they couldn't let up, but here we are...again.

Nah, Byfield was the difference between Oilers in 6 or Oilers in 7. The Oilers are a flub shot with 30 seconds left in Game 1 away from having wrapped this neatly in 5 games.

And a dive. When everybody is talking about a diving problem in the league, the Oilers are patient zero.

When you have 2 super duper stars they cover up for a lot of warts
They are two of the top 5 playoff performers in PPG ever
Superstars win in the playoffs and LA has none . I’m not sure they even have a player who classifies as a star anymore

I understand the PTSD but you obviously haven't watched much of the Kings this year...they are a totally different team and actually have a goalie. With all due respect to Rittich.

To be fair, career ppg in playoffs is a statistic that is comparing retired players (including stats as their career wound down) with active players that have not really started to age. But they will.
Ever? That’s actually a fanboy Oilers statement. Isn’t it a scathing indictment about how little has been accomplished for “two of top 5 in ppg ever”?
Leon can’t be that ever awesome though… he’s behind Barry Pederson. You remember him right?

The challenge in game 3 was a mistake which MAY have cost them a game
Byfield's error cost them game 4
Usually a team can survive blowing one game, but throwing away 2 games, in a 7 game series, is a big hole to climb back out of.
Not over yet though.

Game 1: Got up 5-2. Blew a 3 goal lead including 2 goals in the final 2 minutes - got lucky on a bad goal with a minute left.
Game 2: Got up 3-0, almost let it slip at 3-2, then Skinner let in a not great goal to make it 4-2 or else that one probably gets iffy too.
Game 3: Get up 3-2 and 4-3 then the challenge goal and PP goal against happen.
Game 4: Get up 3-1, allow two goals in the third including one with 30 seconds left after a failed clear to seal the game.
Don't even show up in game 5.
It's Oilers in 6 now - they are 100% mentally broken and don't believe they can beat the Oilers anymore. When Oilers turn up the pressure they have no answer.
