Left shot left winger at that. Oh I'm well aware of the Flames depth chart.

I made that post based on last weeks rumor that the Hawks and Hall were working on something after being healthy scratched .

The fact they're riding Petr Mrazek leads me to believe they're looking for a goaltender and looking to move hall.

Doesn't have to be one for one but if Vladars market value is lower than a 3rd round pick and , the maybe they can take Halls salary and get a pick with it.

Or build the trade up with Kuzmenko and something else on Chicago's end.

Plus they could use some defense. Something the Flames have depth of.

Are they riding Mrazek? Soderblom had a rough year last year, but in admittedly limited minutes, he's got better stats than Mrazek this year.

Chicago has had good Goaltending this season. They are not trading for maybe an upgrade on a backup.

I could see Kurashev being a target, for sure. Big role last year and a second or third thought this year. They could like a winger like Kuzmenko or Pelletier, either would look good on that team, and they have the draft capital to make up the difference.

I would take Kurashev and a forgotten guy like Ryan Greene (looks like a future Selke-type centre playing in the NCAA) for one of Calgary's wingers. He's not a potential home run like Nazar or Moore, but there's not a lot of potential Backlund replacements on the market, either.

Highly doubt the Hawks have interest in Kuzmenko at the moment. They already have a guy who is supposed to score, having trouble scoring in Bedard. They don't need another. Kuzmenko probably doesn't have much value, if any, until he goes on a hot streak again.

Soderblom has been very good this season, quite a bit better than Vladar in fact.

Chicago doesn't need cap relief, so that won't factor in any trade.

I doubt that Kuzmenko hasn't any positive value.

They could use more NHL dmen, but not prospects, they have plenty themselves. But what team couldn't use more NHL dmen?

Lukas Reichel (2020 1st), Frank Nazar (2022 1st), Oliver Moore (2023 1st) and Sacha Boisvert (2024 1st) are young, non-Bedard Blackhawks centres, in whom I can see the Flames being interested.

I really think Hall is of interest for Calgary. Not just as a reclamation project piece but someone who they'd feel comfortable signing for another couple years to provide more scoring.

Trading Kuzmenko for Hall does make sense. Two struggling forwards traded for one another. Both UFA's at end of season with similar cap hits. I would love if Conroy could get a talented young center along with Hall, probably cost Flames a prospect that fans don't really want to move but have to give to get.

Hall for Kuzmenko could work but I just don’t really understand it from the Flames perspective. The team needs right hand shots. Signing Hall in the summer could work so they can hope his first overall luck shines down on Calgary when McKenna is entering the draft.

This is purely hypothetical. But maybe Conroy’s angle is that Kuzmenko isn’t interested in being in CGY long-term, and he’s not being offered futures for Kuzmenko. Conversely, Hall, a Calgarian, is happy to play in CGY, so Kuzmenko for Hall is a form of asset management?

hall for Kuzmenko is shuffling deck chairs. Sure why not, but it's not going to make a big impact.

Same with trading something like Kuz for Kurashev. Not convinced Kurashev is much of an NHLer.
I get Athanasiou vibes from him.

Maybe you could pry Nazar away from them given the size factor. It would cost you a young similar prospect though. Parehk is a non-starter so probably Honzek atleast..

Not sure Hall for Kuzmenko is a worthwhile trade. The net gain, if any, may be marginal.

And that's adding another forward in the Kadri age bracket for multiple seasons? At least Kuzy is a little greener.

I'd rather just ride it out with Kuzmenko and hope he starts producing more. To me he looks like he is a little snake bitten and almost every top six forward on the team is under producing right now. With some of them starting to pull out of it recently and the PP looking like it could start clicking, I wouldn't be surprised if Kuzmenko is next. No rush to do anything anyway.

Why tho? Doesn’t fit into our core and his NHL career is not looking long for the future.

No downside, though. If it doesn't work out, he gets lost. If it does work out, they could flip him for a whole bunch or keep him around for the transition period.

Sorry, misread your post and thought we were were giving up assets for him.

We should be all over this. Trading for hall would help us secure the first overall pick, he’s like a lucky charm. Worked for NJ and Buffalo, good things come in 3s?
