HP4500 is what i have too, the Apps do not seem to support it. We have a PC laptop (no MAC) so i assume I am hooped until they support my printer.

Hey guys - what free program can I use to convert .avi files into an iPad format? Hopefully it will compress them a bit, too.

Not to turn this into a Ipad2 support thread but between my Shaw connection, and Linksys/Cisco E2000, I get speeds between 0.45 to 0.89 Mb/s (as per Speedtest XHD app).

Is this an acceptable range? My youtube vids need some time to buffer and Linksys support tells me that these figures are all okay. Am I expecting too much out of technology?

Linksys is telling you those speeds are ok? Man, they have really low opinon of their product. I'd be pissed with those speeds.

I don't know if it will tether exactly, but you can connect through Bluetooth I think.

Yeah, when I told the guy that my speeds are peaking at 0.84 or so he told me "congratulations! You did it!".

Internet musings are true: Linksys support folks are crap.

I've scoured the Apple support site for combinations of iPad2 and E2000 router settings with little results. Thought I'd ask the CP braintrust for confirmation of the low numbers.

Can you jailbreak an iPhone to tether your iPad without paying Rogers?

I'm not sure I understand the question. Tethering and WiFi Hotspot are standard features with iPhone 4, and it's already free with Rogers.

I have a 3GS and am using MyWi (for which you need to jailbreak) so I can surf on my iPad.

I knew this was my plan from the outset, so I purchased a Wifi-only iPad.

I believe it's free if your data plan includes 1GB/mo or more. Otherwise I don't think they offer tethering at all (at least that's how Fido did it when I spoke to them last).

I stream Netflix movies to my iPad using my iPhone 4's hotspot for my kids all the time while driving. It works perfect.

Marine Corps and Civilian Aircrews Replacing Maps With iPads

"iPads allow close-air support aircrew several advantages," said Maj. Marc Blankenbicker, the lead fire control officer for the Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron Harvest Hawk detachment at Camp Dwyer, Afghanistan. "First is the ability to carry 500 large charts, known as gridded reference graphics, on one electronic tablet."

Currently, a handful of 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (Forward) squadrons use Apple's iPad in Afghanistan. This includes crewmembers for AH-1W and UH-1Y light attack helicopter squadrons, AV-8B Harrier pilots and the crew of the Harvest Hawk equipped KC-130J.

Each of these aircraft provides close-air support for Marines, Afghan forces and other combined team ground troops in Nimroz and Helmand provinces. Marine aviators said the electronic tablet helps them quickly access maps and other data they can use to ensure precision strikes are targeted at enemy positions.

I have 6 gigs of data. It's more than enough for what we've done, although I'm going to be using it more while we road trip this summer. I have an app that lets me monitor my data usage...I'll let you know if it gets crazy.
