Sounds like he is excited to get to Calgary, didn't hear anything about the contract being reworked so you have to think this is the place he wanted to be.
Now lets fix the lines and get some skill players.
Well liked player in the community and by teammates. That can be issues with some QB's at times.

He's going to turn 32 in January so he's still got at least four good seasons left and is younger than Bo, Collaros, Fajardo, Harris, MBT, etc so the Stamps at least should be stable at the position for some time relative to some of the other teams in the league starting older QB's.

He doesn't have the miles on him either. He has had some injuries, but with a QB with wheels behind we can package him out for any of those read option plays and save the licks.

Just wanted to highlight this as we heard about the fractures in the Stamps dressing room between the veterans and the young players. VA was well liked in the Lions dressing room and could very well be an enticement for players to sign on with the Stamps.

The quotes are interesting.
The receivers made it sound like the young players screwed around and didn't buy into the Stampeder way.
Malik Rose made it sound like coaching from the defensive side.
Lot's of flack thrown Dave's way, and he deserves some for sure but maybe we still have a high standard just not finding the players to buy into it.
Sounds like VA wanted this.
He is being paid 500K and 505K as well. So, they are being aggressive, and they got him before a roster bonus was due. Could have waited, maybe lost but that is an aggressive move to me.
I am confident we will get this turned around, lots of work left.

While he hasnt totally reedeemed himself, this was a huge move for the team and himself to make. Still lots of work to be done. But sitting here a week after the season ended we are already a way better team.
Nice trade for the Stamps. Why the hell aren't there some cheap seats available for $20 bucks? CFL is a failing league. They need to get some fresh faces into the seats rather than embarrassing crowds full of empty and tarp off sections.
