Musk doesnt drop the rent off himself, its a multi billion dollar company with hundreds of properties and a before Musk bought it it had a whole department of lawyers and accountants that negotiated leases and paid rent, the idiot fired them no doubt.
Paying a predictable fixed monthly bill is something that a change of ownership shouldnt affect at all, unless the new owners a moron

I thought this was on purpose, not a hiccup. I.e. its not a mistake, its not a hiccup in the transition, he's purposefully skipping out on bills he doesn't want to pay, or just is, well, effectively trying to bully to get the terms he wants?
I do find the "its just a natural hiccup" line pretty funny though .

Sure he does! He probably bought a new PS5 and doesn't have enough room on his Visa to cover the rent until he can pay it off with next Friday's paycheque! Classic gamer fail.

This is absurd. Multi-Billion dollar companies don't miss rent payments due to a takeover. You're smarter than this, no? You have to be.

Not unless Elon wants to deliberately make the news to highlight his incompetence. His co-investors in this endeavour must be regretting their choice to get into bed with him on this.

You've been around these forums long enough to know the answer.

As someone who worked for a multi-billion dollar company for 13 years through 2 separate takeovers, yes, they do. Has nothing to do with the money not being there. It’s just disfunction from the top down.
I’m enjoying the Musk failings as much as the next guy, but not paying bills on time? That’s nothing. Would think those in O&G headquarter country would understand that, of all people.

Intentionally or unintentionally missing rent payments for months at a time though? That seems highly unusual. I dunno, maybe the conditions of Brookfield investing was they’d move Twitter’s offices into a Brookfield building.

I think we can all safely just agree it’s idiotic and leave it at that.
Musk pays $44B for a company. Fires a million people. Company rolls into hilarious and obvious shambles, and then can’t even pay the office rent he is demanding his employees live at permanently “hardcore”.
Dude is a pathetic loser.

It's not like he accidentally forgot to send the cheque, he's been stopping payments for all sorts of things. This isn't an accident, it's a deadbeat owner not fulfilling obligations.

This thread is funny. A lot of people need to do a little more research and reading about Musk before you hop on the Musk trashing train that the media is trying to jam down everyone's throats.
Musk is an EXTREMELY intelligent person, one of the smartest on this planet. And Musk looks at things/issues/businesses from a completely different perspective than most people on the planet. There's a reason that almost everything he touches turns to gold...
The media wants you to believe that he's an idiot because the media knows the general public are idiots and they'll feed off of it and spread it. Musk has an extensive history of ruffling feathers when he takes control of a business, that's no secret. But his track record speaks for itself. He does things no other person on the planet even thinks about doing and he gets results.
People booing him and criticizing every move he makes, likely haven't made a meaningful contribution of their own to society and likely never will.

I feel like I can go to bed at night knowing I am a kind/caring person and that is a pretty meaninful contribution to society. It would be hard to sleep at night knowing I said/agreed with any of the filth that Elon has been spewing.

And some people drink the cool-aid and pretend he can do no wrong. The Boring Company is dumb. It's a dumb failed idea. Tesla solar has been beset by issues and unable to deliver on promises made years ago. The Cybertruck, beyond being delayed for years is a big dumb stupid vehicle Musk sketched on a cocktail napkin thinking it was cool, like an 8 year old would think something is cool. Obviously the Twitter thing is one of the dumbest moves a billionaire has ever made.
And all that is before you get into his ####### personality that even his family can't stand. Do you think the guy even has one close personal friend? I have my doubts, becuase he's a dick. Musk succeeds on things for the same reasons sociopaths make such "good" leaders. They don't give a #### about anyone but themselves.
It's funny you think "doing some research" on Musk will lead to anything but an extensive cringe and noping out of the subject. Musk is only appealing to people who pretend he is some flawless god to be worshipped and simped for. He is not a good person.

Once again, his "repopulate the Earth" philosophy which has led to him siring double-digit numbers of children with multiple different partners (and giving them ridiculously abrasive names just for the fun of it) shows me enough that he's not one to shower glory on for intellect, foresight, or professionalism.
