Not a big raiders fan, but I am going to the game on the 9th. Really need a win for the raiders this weekend to make sure that game means something!

I always thought of Dan Reeves as one of the really good men in the NFL.

RIP.

Quote:
ATLANTA -- Dan Reeves, who won a Super Bowl as a player with the Dallas Cowboys but was best known for a long coaching career highlighted by four more appearances in the title game with the Denver Broncos and Atlanta Falcons, died Saturday. He was 77.

A statement released by his family through former Falcons media relations director Aaron Salkin said Reeves died of complications from dementia. The statement said he died "peacefully and surrounded by his loving family at his home in Atlanta."

"His legacy will continue through his many friends, players and fans as well as the rest of the NFL community," the family said.

I thought he was older than 77 as it seems like a long time since he's coached.

Yeah, I was surprised to find out that he was just short of his 78th birthday. Would have thought he was in his 60's by the time he went to Atlanta. He had a long run as a head coach from 1980 to 2003. The 98 Falcons team that made the Superbowl with Chris Chandler was an all time overachiever.

He tormented my guy Schottenheimer by coming out on the right end of a lot of close games.

Stafford is in full Lions mode, what a disaster again.

Lions finessed the Rams. Stafford is basically the stronger armed version of Goff, although even Goff isn't making some of these picks.

Carson Wentz would be helping his team more if he was still in Covid protocol.

It is his rookie year, the Jags have a bad roster, and he did have Urb as his coach for most of it, but Trevor has still been surprisingly bad this year. Not quite panic territory, lots of HOFers had crappy rookie years, but the Jags are so bad they'll probably hire Dabo Swinney to ruin Trevor's chances even more.

Decent opening half for my (two week) Raiders. Terrible final defensive drive though.

Between the needless hold on the kick return to negate the TD and Tyreek dropping the bomb, those might be points the Chiefs regret not getting. Outside of one bad throw, Mahomes was really good in the first half. But damn is Jamar Chase good. So much talent with WR's coming into the league now. Justin Jefferson's record for yardage in his first two years might fall next year to a college teammate.

Miami's winning streak has been against all backups, save Lamar. Tua remains fairly unconvincing as a franchise QB.
