Back to semi-seriousness. Right after the Ktinga in that trailer, there is another ship that looks suspiciously alike the SS. Botany Bay. I hope that isn't the case; too much revisiting of Khan already.

Yep, looks fantastic. I would fully support them cancelling everything else and diverting all budget to making these 20-episode seasons.

Well, we can keep Lower Decks too, but I imagine that's fairly cheap to produce anyways.

Do this, do this now! And once you're on season 4 contemplate the new ship new crew idea set ~60 years post picard. Don't show any legacy characters at all, reserve them only for mentions in historical context.
Plot line could involve the Breen, a new race somewhere on the border of the gamma quadrant, or perhaps even a separate galaxy threat with new species (new federation? Similar ideals?) owing to the advancement of technology like transwarp? Or a resurgent Hirogen civilization that has recrystalized owing to the Holographic technology and begun an empire?

I just remember La'an is a Noonien Singh, which I don't think you tie her to that without exploring any Augment legacy stuff.

NO, JAMES TIBERIUS KIRK IS FROM IOWA! He only works in outer space.

heh, I noticed that too
starting my angry youtube rant right now.

EDIT: it also irrationally bugs me that on Picard he keeps giving Data at Ops Navigation instructions that should be Geordi at CONN

Likely a D7, the K'T'inga came along later around the time of Vger was supposedly its first appearance.

0:43 -- It looks like the Federation is running low on Unobtanium.

In the revolving door scene, there's a guy walking in the background wearing a Leafs scarf. So, this is clearly the darkest timeline.

The Picard Finale is pretty much like the entire season. A mixed bag.

Some of emotional notes worked for me, but my criticisms of the plot stand

I enjoyed that finale and season. A decent send-off for the crew.

Loved the cameo voice at the beginning of the episode and the name they chose to give him.

We also got a mid-credit scene. So stay till the end.

Better send off than Nemesis, not as good as All Good Things..., imo.

Quoting myself from three years ago, at the end of Picard Season 1:

That's the whole series in its entirety, in a nutshell. "Stuff happens." It's a series of plot points flimsily strung together by an incredibly thin thread.

Was it great to see the old Enterprise-D one more time? Yes. It was awesome. Did it make any sense? Very little.

The best scene in the entire series is the end: our seven main characters shooting the #### and playing poker. It's the only one that felt genuine.

So...my thoughts.

Spoiler!

That episode was stupid, lazy, bad and ridiculous and I think I loved almost every minute of it.

Thats...what being a Star Trek fan is all about.

I think I tangentially called out the post-credits scene a bit:

I get that they always want a long drawn out goodbye with hints of a continuation with characters that I don't think are all that intriguing.

But Star Trek 6 is still the winner on how to say goodbye to a cast.

I'm on my second viewing of the finale today, and I'm skeptical on whether or not it is good enough for me to watch it a third time before bed. I might put it off to tomorrow.

I cannot wait for whatever is next.
