This is also incorrect, it's not a civilian version of anything. The AR15 (Armalite Rifle model 15) is what lead way to the M16. It only became the M16 when Colt purchased the design from Armalite in the 60's.

Hell, even if everything NRA types tells us about the abilities of these wannabe heroes and their Call of Duty level of training and they stopped such a massacre before it started, those pro-murder people still have to deal with the fact that many, many more people will die as a matter of daily routine. "Acceptable losses", I suppose.

FWIW Colorado Springs is also a supremely right wing conservative hotbed. Living here it's a real shame that there's zero we could have done to prevent this, it's just in God's hands now. I suppose it's also in the hands of the ahole with a murderboner shooting cops but how could anyone ever hope to stop something like this from happening?
