Lindholm and Zadorov not doing well in Vancouver. Maybe they miss Kuzmenko?

Kuzmenko + Joni Jurmo + Tanev for Lindholm + Zadorov!

Then flip Zadorov to Leafs and Lindholm to Boston.

Doesn’t Vladar usually play against the Oilers, especially in Edmonton?

Ya from what I have read on Canucks side, Lindholm has been quite disappointing outside of a few games.

It's surprising to me. Markstrom is the best goalie in the league right now.

I think this is the ideal outcome for the Flames. At the TDL, the Oilers trade away valuable futures for Tanev. They lose in the playoffs. This off-season, Draisaitl informs the Oilers he won’t re-sign but will play out the year and “see what happens”. The following off-season, McDavid does the same. But the Oilers are so desperate to avoid the embarrassment of not winning even one Stanley Cup with a player like McDavid, they don’t trade Draisaitl or McDavid. Those two players then walk for nothing. The Oilers are left with a wasteland, doomed to ruminate on their stupidity; gifted the most talented player in NHL history, their mismanagement was great enough that they failed to accomplish anything.

Same thing he was doing here. He’s playing not to get hurt, walking himself to free agency

So nothing has changed. I am starting to think the guy is a 2nd line player whose numbers were highly inflated by who he used to play with.

Here is a fun thought, Vladar starting tonight and Kuzmenko not at practice. I wonder if Kuzmenko is the other piece in the NJ trade.

I think they expected Lindholm to be some sort of offensive monster, that would have instant chemistry with their skilled players.

He’s playing a ton of minutes and has been pretty dominant in the faceoff dot from the games I’ve caught of him in the Canucks jersey.

True. However, you could also argue that Vladar is due for a start because it’s been a long while since he played, Markstrom has struggled with the Oilers, it’s the only road game amongst a string of home games and Markstrom is coming off a game where he had to make multiple acrobatic saves in short order so he could use the rest after a game like that.

Fun thought.

I personally think kuz is worth a 1st in a vacuum. So what could we be snagging for the two combined...

Tanev to the Oilers for Broberg and a conditional 2nd. The 2nd becomes a 1st i̶f̶ when the Oilers are swept in any round of the playoffs.

Broberg is unable to beat out Desharnais or Kulak for a spot on the vaunted Edmonton Oilers backend. That trade is basically a 2nd for Tanev.

I don't know, I think they are but they really clamped down on any information getting out on Markstrom.

Ya, broberg is worth very little. I'd rather have a 3rd rd pick

As good as Markstrom has been, resting him 1 out of every 3 games has proven to keep him fresh and playing at a higher level. So he did start all 4 games on the road trip, had one off, than the last 3. So it could be part of the regular rotation. You could argue they're still playing him a bit much..but he has had a couple of breaks already due to injury so his overall season workload has not been that heavy.

Holloway and a 1st for tanev would be great imo. I know it's unpopular but that would be a robbery, amd though tanev is great he's not great enough to unsuck the oilers.
