Preliminary counts over a 24-hour period March 27-28 show there were 4,400 users on the bridge. About 89 per cent were pedestrians and 11 per cent (about 475 users) were cyclists.

Now I know what my tax dollars are being used for - crappy youtube videos.
The bridge is a bridge, its difficult to pass slow moving peds and when you try to pass them in the bike lane the people on bikes get upset.

Are you guys really upset that the city saved a little coin and made a video themselves? Sure, it's crappy, but would we rather see them spend money to hire someone to make it slick?
Edit: But I could probably get behind the argument of "why bother at all".

But . . . . but . . . I thought there would only be 100-200 tops! In total over the course of the first year!
Remember - only 10,000 a year will cross it. That means several hundred a month.
Actual bridge usage -was it 4500 per day? - is grossly over-limit and this type of wanton pedestrian traffic should be outlawed. Could you imagine what's going to happen when warmer weather comes?
Jogged over the bridge today after work. After all that work making this "pedestrian and bike friendly bridge" the sidewalks seemed pretty small. I was on the correct side for usual traffic flow and some 50-60's couple was walking side by side coming at me. Barely enough room for me to squeeze by. Looks nice - but it's much more interesting from far away than being on it. I was running so I didn't really stop to look at the metal and red and stuff. . . But as far as functionality it gets an F on my first visist but only due to stupidity on the part of the users.
CTV Calgary noticed the tags on the Peace Bridge on Saturday morning.
There are between 10 and 15 graffiti symbols spanning the entire east side of the bridge.

Between 10 and 15? Who estimates with low numbers like that?
"Man, I hate speeding tickets, the cops were out in full force this weekend"
"How many did you get?"
"Between one and three, it was ridiculous".
