Canucks hold a team option on Tocchet and told him they would hold him hostage if he didn’t sign a new deal. Sounds they they softened on that stance but he won’t be able to coach anywhere outside of Vancouver next year.
Not sure how a coach that bad would be hot commodity. Not sure why Vancouver went after him in the first place. He hates skilled hockey and talked about when he was hired.

The stats watchers seem to suggest that Hughes is still injured or at least not 100 percent, since he hasn't looked the same since coming back.

I don't think that's a secret. He was very obviously playing hurt since December.

He's in the NCAA, so they still have 2 more years to do something with him. More Alan Fox than Tom Erixon.

Five out of seven Canadian teams are in the playoffs, including the President's Trophy winner, and there are no Canadian teams in the bottom 14 of the standings! I find that remarkable.
If the Canucks win their last game, they'll miss the playoffs with more points than Montreal or New Jersey, who made it. They are, of course, still No Good on general principles, but this season's results don't show their no-goodness to full advantage. In a dim light, they could even pass for OK.
