Chilling by the river and there’s quite a few people around. Some drunk couple starts a screaming match. Dude nopes right out of there and she keeps yelling until he’s completely out of sight.
I’d say it gmg but it was actually kind of funny. Entertaining for sure.
My wife is considering getting a mini dachshund. I'm not opposed to it, surprisingly, but I have read they are big barkers. Is it still possible to get a dog de-barked? Not really concerned about any moral outrage regarding that...just wondering if I can pay a vet (even under the table or whatever if they aren't technically allowed to do it) to make it happen. It's really the only sticking point for me...the barking. They seem to be a popular breed so if it doesn't work out I don't think it'll be a problem to find it a forever home.
I was looking at monkeys, but they seem to be a total PITA to own. Even the small ones. This dog could be okay because it's cat sized, which I like, and I think I would like to put its floppy ears on my cheek when I lay down to snuggle it.
I'm fine with that if we had to take it out, but I'd rather a more permanent solution just so I'm not hearing barking in the house.
Training, I guess. Or muzzle inside? I don’t know anything about dogs, other than their life expectancy and ongoing expenses are more than I want to deal with. Kind of be cool to have pets with short lifespans, like when they are the height of playfulness and cuteness.

The fact that you are even thinking of debarking a dog means that you should not get a dog. Debarking also does not make a dog silent. Just go back to making lip balm and leave animals alone.

I looked up training and it's super time consuming. Tbh, I'm just not going to put that kind of effort into a dog. Better things to do. Barking would drive me nuts, though, so if it can't get debarked it's a non-starter.
I figure the animal thing is just trolling/satire at this point but who knows with Sliver.
It's just so weird after, like, 15 years of being here this trolling accusation still gets leveled at me. I've not once failed to come through on things I said I'd do. Proof has been supplied on numerous occasions. I'm just not a liar, dude. It shouldn't even cross your mind at this point.

Don’t you have a vacation property? Have your wife go out there and come back on the dog is trained.
I'm confused. Presumably your wife knows you, yet still asked for a dog?
It'll be her dog and I won't have to do any of the work. One of my staff brings in his dog every day and I've come to really enjoy that rascal. But picking up crap and listening to barking? Still not happening.
I compromise a fair amount for my wife, tbh. I don't want my weirdisms to hold her back in any way. It would be unreasonable for her to ask for some big, drooling, smelly, nasty dog, but this little thing doesn't seem crazy to me. Plus, neither one of us would lose a wink of sleep if it didn't work out and we had to find it a forever home.
