I heard Nault taking shots at Pinder today again. Making smartest guy in the room comments and when Pat screwed up his words and said Mr. Twitter instead of Mr. Pinder Nault chimed in with “he thinks he is Mr. Twitter”
Funny enough but the fact that Pinder seems to piss of Nault makes me like Pinder even more.
It still shocks me that Nault has a job while Klein was let go

Singh is Calgarian.
Probably makes as many mistakes with their derpth players who see next to no ice time or puck possession.

He's also a diehard Oilers fan. I'm saying it tongue in cheek, I like the guy and think he does a good job. But he bleeds blue & orange, I'm not kidding (or he did back in the day anyway. Broadcasting on a national level may have dulled it over the years)

I'm not a Wills fan either.

Not for nothing, but I can’t tell who half our players are when they wear the flag reds, and I’ve been following this team pretty closely for 17 years.
Every PBP guy gets names wrong. In a sport like hockey, it’s impossible not to. Bob Cole got mixed up, Maher did, Ball does all the time.
Play by play is about capturing the emotion of the moment. Especially on radio. What matters is how you make the audience feel.
Wills makes me feel like someone else should be doing his job.

Hey, y'all — my appearance on 960, initially scheduled for Friday, has been rescheduled to tomorrow at 9:25 AM.
I'll be talking all things Heat with Pinder, so be sure to tune in if that's something that interests you!

Great job, Mike! Very well-spoken and articulate. It's obvious you've followed the team and players closely, and are dedicated to the gig because you were able to weave in specific stats and information without it sounding forced or clearly being read off a sheet of bullet points. Head and shoulders above some of the "analysts" they put on the air regularly.
If I had to offer one constructive criticism it would be the number of "you knows", but as someone who has dabbled a bit in podcasting and listened back to myself during editing, it's shocking to hear the number of "you knows", "likes", and "ummmms" that I use frequently. They're such an element of casual conversation it's tough to realize you're even doing it in the moment. Also, it's not like there should be none at all, lest you come across sounding like a robot.
Again, great hit, and keep up the good work!

Yup, my "you know" usage can be positively irritating at times. Glad I'm not the only one who notices it. I'll have to keep working at it.

Good job Scorp. You have a good voice for radio and sounded fairly polished given your limited experience.

with respect tot he number of pauses and you knows - it used to astound me that when peter mahr would do his morning/afternoon hits on the fan how often he would do that pauses, umms, you knows - but then during game time, he hardly did it

Almost never. And on the rare occasion he does, he realizes it immediately and corrects himself.

Maybe just me but I never mind an umm or a pause. It just means someone's thinking about their response. It makes sense that Maher would do it in an interview but not while calling a play. He's not giving his thoughts in a PBP.

Just to echo, great job Scorp - maybe give Horseracing Alberta a call and suggest Mike on Mondays as a far superior product to what they are paying for right now.
