The logos on the shoulders make me worry.

Looks like a shirsey.

Crap.

Unlikely. That looks like fan apparel in the soccer shirt mode.

No more a template for a jersey design than this...

Fan apparel and merchandise design often take liberties with canonical franchise visual identity.

Are we really that surprised.

The Flames are so tone deaf when it comes to the uniforms for the team. I wouldn't be surprised if they did something like that. Mash the retro with the script 3rds and call it a "new era of Flames Uniforms"

With the Devils going against the trend, I think a white retro inspired third kit also for the Flames would be a great idea. Fresh, clean, a bit different than the expected red.

As a twist, I wonder if the white Vegas gloves would catch on anywhere else, especially with a white third set.

nope... the bulk of what i do is taking logos that graphic designers have already created, and from that, create the program that tells an embroidery machine how to stitch that same logo using thread.

i'm so not a designer... watching guys use photoshop blows my mind (i'm sure i could figure the basics out, but some of the stuff they can do is amazing... especially some of the concepts in this thread!)

i did talk to one of my suppliers last year about getting blank adidas jerseys and from what i recall, i think adidas was only producing a limited number of teams in blanks (original 6 of course and a few other large market teams)

i'm personally not a fan at all of the adidas jerseys... i'm not sure if it's the neckline i don't like?? or maybe it was how low they put the flaming 'c' on the jerseys, or the weird materials they used (the dimplely shoulders come to mind) - but i just don't really like them.

i still think this is my favourite one that i've made so far...

i love the colours, i love the shoulder patch and i love the font for the names/numbers. (the flames just needed to fix the '5' to something like this...)

That's really good, but I love the old horse-head jerseys.

If you’re bringing back the horse head, you bring back the original or you don’t bring it back at all.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see the Flames roll out a 'Flames' script 'retro' 3rd.

"But! What if we had that really well received script IN the retro colours. They'd love that so much more."
"I don't know that script was too popular"
"It sold!"
"Yeah, but you don't see it at games too much since we stopped selling it - do you?"
"It's probably because the script said 'Calgary'. They'll LOVE 'Flames'!"

TBH, after seeing that shirt... I'll actually be a bit surprised if the Flames don't flub this one. It's a group that loves telling the fans how wrong they are, and not before they've tried 5 of their own ways first will they ever listen. I always imagined giving the fans what they want through gritted teeth... "fine, give the fans their retro jersey".

A white flaming C on that same jersey though with the horsehead as the shoulder patch....I think I'd be okay with that.

Now one of these, I would buy. That is an incredible Jersey.

If they do go retro colors full time again I hope it's with a different base jersey.

I have no photo shop skills but this was done using the Adidas jersey creator on their team site, using the current Blues jersey template.

That looks good minus the gaudy white shoulders.

Yeah ideally those would be red...but the adidas tool requires them to be white for that top arm and body stripe to be white.

I really like the road in that template though.

Here is the tools on the adidas site for those of you like me who have no photo shop skills but would still like to play around with jersey designs http://uniforms.adicustom.com/ice-hockey/

Haha thats a fun site.

I used Dallas + Minnys + STL (Just a 90's garbage design) template just for fun.

I forgot to change the number colors on the home though.
