Wentz to the COVID list. Perhaps time to consider COVID as the NFL MVP? It's gonna carry the Raiders to the playoffs looks like.

You make it sound like the Dolphins didn't get a break last night or that other teams haven't had COVID depleted rosters. The Raiders aren't in playoff contention because of COVID as they have defeated every team they are battling with for the last wildcard in the Ravens, Steelers, Dolphins, Cleveland, and Denver (twice). That's why they control their own fate as the only team they haven't beaten is the Chargers but they will have to in the last game to make it.

Also Raiders strength of victory (SOV) is highest of all AFC teams in the playoffs or hunt at .529 (Chiefs are seconds at .524) so there is no fluke here as they have had a difficult schedule and are full marks for their place in the standings. I still think they will miss the playoffs but considering everything that has happened to them I feel it's a positive going into next season with a new GM and HC as there are some good players on the roster.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the Raiders need to beat the Chargers next week to make the playoffs. If they lose this week and win next week they're likely in. If they win this week and lose next week the Chargers likely beat them out. If they win both, I think they're in for sure.

The Chargers game is the game the Raiders HAVE to win as they are the only team in the race the Raiders haven't beaten as they can make it with a loss against the Colts but then they would need help. If they win out they are in because they will own head to head tiebreakers vs all the teams in the running.

Huuuuge loss to the NFL world. And this was after his newly-released documentary (that I still need to watch). RIP Madden, you'll be missed.

Just a brutally sad day in the NFL Media world between Madden and this. Hard to comprehend a child losing both his parents to cancer before he's even 12.

Wow, that's tough to hear, I'm close to Dickerson in age and my oldest is 11. Really feel for that poor kid.
Madden truly had a remarkable career. Its stunning to think that he stopped coaching at 42 after being a head coach for 10 years. A bit better luck and he likely has a few more Superbowls won. I still remember when Fox gave him unheard of money to join them when they got the NFL rights. Proved to be worth every penny. Than add in the video game franchise which also helped the league grow huge with younger people. What an icon.

Hilarious that him and Wentz both tested positive the same week and might screw their teams out of playoff spots.
