The Oilers had been playing run and gun for more than 20 years, they are stuck in the 80's that they can win games 6-5. But now, they are losing games 5-6 which is fabulous.

I've really been bothered by the Flames play the last 7 or so games. Dropping 5 on the trot is concerning, I think for the whole fanbase.
I looked this morning and Mulletville is 2 pts above us in the standings.
That provides some solace.

The whole intermission was pretty embarrassing. They must be running out of ideas of new things to say about McDavid and Draisaitl because it was just a word salad of superlatives. David Amber even had to admit "now we're probably getting ahead of ourselves" when showing the chart of all time points leaders compared to McDavid.

I don't think they can outscore their defensive problems and goaltending problems. Staples last night was blathering about signing Russell because he blocks shots. But Russell is a disaster in their own zone, and besides the Oilers only have 13k in cap space so there's no help coming.

Did anyone notice what happened during the Oilers timeout against Washington?
Woodcraft was showing his plan on the little whiteboard. McDavid saw what he needed to see and skated away. and Kane started to follow but Hyman wanted to keep looking at what Woody was drawing. Kane grabbed Hyman and pulled him away from Woodcroft and his whiteboard.
Woody slowly turned, handed the whiteboard to GG and then threw his marker down the bench in disgust. He tried to hide it but he was mad.
Things in Edmonton are No Good.

I am loving the Campbell signing and it is going pretty much exactly how I hoped it would. When Toronto decided that Matt Murray was the better option during a critical time in their team build it showed me that Edmonton is going to regret this decision big time.
I am waiting for the Woddcroft shine to completely wear off and Kane to start doing Kane things and divide the room. We need a playoff miss or first round exit for the Oil this year
