Runway 11 arrivals leaving some nice vapour trails off their flaps over Evanston this afternoon. A little girl noticed and said to her dad, "look at the vapour trails!" He replied, "it's extra water from the bathrooms."

Naturally you corrected the dad and told him his daughter was correct, thus destroying any respect she had for him...right?

Hopefully he didn't need to and she lost all respect for him on her own...

Unofficial update I read. Landed in Nan Ming with cockpit electronics malfunction.

Please let this be the case.

cnn reporting airline doesn't know where airplane is
also reporting that the plane may of run out of fuel

http://www.cnn.com/2014/03/07/world/...html?hpt=hp_t1

if it is fuel related - how do they do not put enough fuel to last for 2 hours...

I think what they're saying is the plane has been missing so long it would be out of fuel by now.

Is it correct that the Malaysian Air flight lost contact 8 hours ago?
And it's only breaking news now???

EDIT: Press conference in 10 minutes

my bad, 2 hours after takeoff they lost contact, and I guess it had 7.5 hours of fuel left at that time. Misread something.
So yea now it would of been out of fuel, but it probably went down before that

Would they have been able to find it by now just based on the planned flight path and where they lost contact?

I'm guessing there are a lot of factors in that - if it went down it'll be hard to spot definitely if there is any rough terrain. Satellites would have to be over the flight path at the time it went missing.

Also - It could of also gone completely off it's planned path

Based on that final position report (which matches up with when Malaysian says they lost contact too) there is a good chance she went down in the Gulf of Thailand. Apparently the gulf is FULL of fishing boats so something is bound to be reported soon.
