Saw my first bobcat in the wild the other day. We've got lovely water mocassins, coral snakes, diamondbacks and now hundreds possibly thousands of naturalized Burmese pythons in the 'Glades.
Bears, panthers (rare) coyotes too. Some wolves, not many.
It's not the gators that scare me, it's the crocs. Unless you step on a gator or disrupt a nest they pretty much leave you alone.

Somehow I missed this thread all together. Some really nice work here, guys!
Photography has been a serious hobby of mine for many years. I use mostly Nikon equipment and, occasionally, older German-made Hasselblad and Leica-R glass on Nikon DSLR bodies. I shoot a lot of close-up, as well as some nature, landscape, street and some portraiture photography.
A few shots from Paris:

Here's what you're missing, cowperson.

Not technically perfect nor quite as up to snuff as some of y'alls work but eh...
We went to the zoo on Sunday - beautiful day. The penguins and flamingos are my favorites.

Love these. Have you thought about adjusting the crops so that the car is in precisely the same spot and the same size? Really nice either way.

Sadly, this is the last photo that I'll ever upload to Flickr.
2000+ photos and just over 620,000 views later.
Many of the paid (pro) longtime members are leaving, as am I.
We've had it with their new format and reluctance to listen.
Any new photos of mine will be posted at http://www.ipernity.com/doc/witty_nickname

Funny. I saw this same cloud walking the dogs last night and wished that I had my camera with me. Great minds think alike, I guess.

One of my "late life" discoveries was catadioptric or mirror lenses. They are poor man's telephoto-lens designed like a telescope. Cheap, relatively lightweight and producing very decent images from long distances. I love walking around with a Nikkor Reflex 500mm and taking pics from afar without being noticed. This one is a crop from an image of a girl in the park taken approx. 300' away.

True, but what's the point of sharing with the general public if the site is too damn slow and unresponsive.
For me it's not about marketing, it's more about functionality and ease of use.
I can understand if I wasn't paying for this service since 2007.
