I don't think it has anything with the new "Xbox". It's mostly has to do with reduced sales and giving people less reasons to own a Playstation. Playstation makes most of their money from 3rd party purchases but if Steam can figure out a good console alternative where you can play everything, then why buy a Playstation if they had most of their games on PC.
